@StanMan_41: Cutting list to 7 tomorrow added one more school

I doubt were on the list but it could happen. Has said great things about Ollie but I don't think we ever really went hard after him.

Unless Aaron Gordon scared him off he's going to Arizona. That my informed guess.

I doubt it would scare Stanley off. Aaron is more of a PF than SF. Stanley is more of a SF/(big)SG than PF. Plus, what are the chances of Gordon being a one & done? My uninformed guess is that you are likely right.

Just getting my first look at Stanley Johnson in this Arizona-Gonzaga game. Kid looks great, especially for a freshman. Reminds me a bit of D-Ham with a little more strength.

Wow! responding to a post that goes back to April of 2013. How long did it take you to find that one? I'd guess there are a lot of recruits we had a brief or significant sniff with that are doing pretty well. That's what happens when you recruit good players.

There is a search function on the board. It took maybe 30 seconds. I was watching the game and noticed that he reminded me a bit of D-Ham, which was interesting to me because, as we've discussed him here, people have been hard pressed to identify a comparable player. I generally don't pay a ton of attention to recruits we don't get, so I googled the guy and saw that he is a freshmen; then I searched him here and responded to the first of several threads with posts about him.

It's funny everyone can see the talent oozing from this kid but what I saw was pretty much what we've seen from Rodney. He made mistakes, dribbled around a lot having to give it up and charged once too. He is an unbelievable talent but he's not even close to what he will be. Rodney can be that guy you were watching!

And by the way the 6'8" they say - that's funny. If he's 6'6" I'd be amazed, he's real close to the same size as Pangos.

The yard always makes the statement that all the recruits and all the parents love Mr. Kevin.

If so, can anyone explain the current roster?

Our current roster is full of talent. DHam and Purvis were highly rated out of high school. Facey was NY state player of the year. I can keep going. But, my point is that the team has the skills. Thats not where the problem lies. Its a chemistry / leadership thing. People on this board saying it's a talent / recruiting problem are wrong.

I am glad you do not scout for me. I would be bear arse. If you scouted for me I would be bending over because I would be f*ed.

Keep listening to pundits and national hoop mags and enjoy your postseason. Any way keep listening to the talkers and don't think for yourself while enjoying the season.

True or false: DHam is a legit star. He is a top 5 freshman in the nation.

Wait, who are you talking about? Stanley Johnson isn't close to the same size as Kevin Pangos. Am I missing something?

Don't think he's top five (yet), but he's been better than a lot of the kids ranked ahead of him that we missed out on (Oubre).

I meant he was closer to Pango's size than he was 6'8" - he's not close to 6'8! Lucky if he's 6'6"......really pushing that number.

Would love to Have Oubre now as we speak with DHam playing a hybrid 4 a little more often. KO would use him more than Selfless.

In shoes he's a shade under 6-8, call it 6-7.5. He's a monster physically. You can look up his measurements from USA Basketball.

Hamilton may or or not be one of the top five but he is the most versatile freshman I've seen this short season.

Not quite top 5. Beyond the ones at the top three teams in the country (Johnson and the Duke and Kentucky kids), Blackmon has been really good for IU so far (20 ppg on 50 percent shooting).

But he's up there. If we were guaranteed to have him for 2 years (I think we will, but no guarantee), I'm not sure I'd trade him straight up for any other freshman in the country.
