Prince just led his team to the state final win. He had 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in the win over a top 10 team in the country!

I love seeing us recruit proven winners. Some guys just know how to get it done, it's an innate ability.

I
interesting. there was a poster here who kept posting about how grayson allen destroyed DHAM , and how much allen deserved to be ranked higher... all based on stats when they most likely weren't even guarding each other.

I've only seen highlights of the match-up (so obviously no missed shots) but there were a bunch of open 3's and transition dunks by Allen in the video. Someone probably looked at the stats and called it a day.

UConn signee Sam Cassell Jr. of Chipola has been named Florida JC Player of the Week. He averaged 24 ppg/4rpg in 2 must win games last week

Nice article from the Miami Herald on Sagemont's game (Prince). He went 11-11 from the line and squelched Providence's only real run in the second half with 2 dunks. Sagemont played a 2-3 zone on D, that's why there wasn't a direct defensive matchup on Allen.

Buford (Lubin) and Athens Christian (Turtle) also won last night to advance in the Georgia state playoffs. Buford won without Simonds (the soph we've offered who's emerged as a complete stud this year), who was suspended close to game time for some school-related issue. Doesn't seem major, sounds like he's expected back for the next game.

Awesome dunk. I noticed they had a female official working the game. Is that common in HS nowadays? Haven't watched many HS games lately.

Basketball preview: Cartersville, Buford set to go toe-to-toe

Buford went 26-5 this season and a perfect 14-0 in region play. The Wolves feature 6-foot-8 Connecticut commit Rakim Lubin.

“He’s a monster, and obviously, Nick Harris with St. Pius is a big kid, but [Lubin] is an animal. He’s a lot bigger and stronger,” Tobin, [Cartersville head coach] said. “He’s a legitimate 200 pounds and he’s muscular. We have our hands full.”

There are a few here in the CIF-Southern Section. We had a female ref for about 4 games this season (total of 27 games). A couple were pretty good refs (the highest possible compliment for a ref...lol), some weren't, just like the male refs.

Big game for Turtle tonight. He's playing against Ahmed Hill:
@kbooze3: @hoopseen @OntheRadarHoops ACS 13 Aquinas 11 end of 1st. Ahmed Hill w/ 2, Turtle Jackson w/ 7

@kbooze3: @hoopseen @OntheRadarHoops Aquinas 28 ACS 26 at the half. Hill and Jackson with 10 apiece. Both with 2 3point FG each

Haven't heard anything, here, about DHam and his team out in CA. Have they played a game over the past 10 days?

Hopefully Buford wins their next game as the finals of each class will be televised on local tv down here and look forward to seeing Lubin play.

Really hoping that being early on Simonds pays off. Nice little Georgia pipeline we could be developing.

I'm impressed that our coaching staff offered Simonds even before UGA did.

My opinion's not worth anything. But from watching full game/highlight videos and reading the articles over the course of the season I think Simonds is going to be a major stud. I get the sense people in Georgia thought he'd good going into this year, but had no idea he'd be this good. He has solid size, length, and athleticism to go with a complete offensive arsenal. And he's only a soph.

Conversation with someone that was at the game:

Other persons original tweet:
@CarterTuck: Rakim Lubin was an absolute monster inside for Buford. Him and D'Marcus Simonds are quite the handful. #MarchToMacon

My response:
How did Lubin look? Post moves or just stronger than everybody else?

Other person:
Did a great job without the basketball. Getting position and sealing. And as weird as it sounds handling the ball as well. But still much stronger than everyone on the floor. Had a number of dunks.

Me:
How did he look defensively?

Other Person:
He had a good amount of pretty emphatic blocks. Held down the middle well.

Really impressive numbers for Lubin this year, and it's not like he's doing this in a weak area, Georgia HS basketball is very competitive

Lubin's coach just told me that he had 15 rebounds as well today.

How is Lubin not the top player in GA this year? Seems he's had a better season than Jakeenan Gant and Ahmed Hill it seems. Not that you know... I'd like to know where he's ranked after the season. Lubin seems to be playing like a Top 100 recruit. That's just my opinion.

Also, I'm guessing Lubin/Simonds are in different divisions, if they aren't facing Will Jackson. I love recruiting winners...
