Junior Day... Barmore from Southington (QB) was there as well.
Most of the MA and CT kids were there. Newsome,Barmore,Outlow,Baker,Hendren,Wright, etc. seems like it was a very very good day.

@desmondconner: #UConnFootball hot on 2014 recruit RB Marcus Outlow from NFA. Program offered the talented 6 foot 190-pounder a scholarship last week...

Players do the best job selling the program and recruiting others. Just look at Ole Miss with the number one player committed to Ole Miss and the other top players coming.

hmm. i'm really having a tuff time going thru this qb class for 2014 in ct. a lot of big quality qbs. linta, marchi and barmore all seem to also be on radar. its possible the qb class will be deep just like rb which would be crazy for this state.

Will be interesting to see who separates from pack.

wynne picked up a offer from kirk after bc offered. i even hid his name off here form the early list and kirk still sniffed him out :D. dam u kirk! anyway, this is the type of kid we need to land from greenwich if were ever going to make progress down in that area. noel was a great start last year. if u can get a norwalk kid then a gwich kid back to back years, buzz will start to flow not to mention another kid or 3 will also be on our offer list/radar sheet for 2014 down here. HUGE year!!!

time to start a 14 commit list - do we include Branford? Sylva? Bryan? Cunningham?

No. Every commit you give goes out the window, and your process starts again, when you enroll in prep school or a Juco. The services will start calling those guys soon enough and we'll know if they've been reoffered and have re-verballed.

Harold Cooper (RB/Hillhouse) won the 55m Class M Indoor Championship.

Yes. Some times:

Harold Cooper track results (http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3413824): 55m time: 6.49 s; 100m 11.22 s; 200m 23.52 s; long jump 19'5"
Josh Marriner track results (http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=1675995): 55m time: 6.43 s; 100m 10.79 s; 200m 23.01 s; long jump 21'7"
Laray Smith track results (http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=1823314): 55m time: 6.50 s; 100m 11.05 s; 200m 21.61 s; no long jump

All great players, just want to remind everybody we got a very fast back in this year's class, and the guy we missed on, Laray Smith, is the fastest high school runner in the country at 300m/400m, he has elite speed, but is not necessarily superior to Cooper or Marriner in football speed.

I really like Marriner. I think he is underrated. The kid has a lot of ability. Bounces around through the pile like a pin ball. Shakes tacklers off, utilizes a solid stiff and can still run away from people. Great looking back with a great build, low center of gravity. Solid and stocky already with possibly more muscle to add. One of the steals of this class. The kid put up crazy numbers this year. And judging by his track numbers, he's got some wheels too.

good thread on the cuse board with some nuggets. one of them was known just not where the kid was going but makes sense. u guys have heard me mention 2013 wr cooper before becuase a family member of his is cooper the rb 2014 from ct. well he will be preping at milford. so theres that if your looking to make a splash.

the nyc rb samuel(eh) got a nd offer. jay hayes already verbaled to nd for 2014, i was hoping him and cam were boys but it didn't matter much(poly kids). ehall has been building a serious monster along with a few other programs, we need to get into those. missing on laray hurt becuase xaverian is another brand name, i remember some crazy afternoons on the ruby field with them in hs.

we need to break thru to the top half of kids in nyc. this good news is fsu/fl/miami seem to have eyes on certain rbs from the south. and now with nd on samuel were slowly becoming a bit more focused in the race to land some of the handful of bcs quality ct backs for 2014. time will tell....

just missed on Wayne Morgan last year. Would have been a great get for the pipeline at EHall.

We do have a good start in our pipelining in NYC though. Lots of kids recently with interest and guys on our roster.

Wait so is that Corey Cooper who is going to Milford?

Just watched the Harold Cooper highlight tape from 2011. That is a Div. 1 player there. Love the way he reads his blocks and seems to always be one step ahead of the defense. Great vision.

Do we know if UCONN has shown interest?

UCONN needs to offer him ASAP. And 2011 was his sophomore year! Wow. We all know he is ridiculously fast, but his cutting ability and vision are solid. Looks to have a ton of lower body strength too, he runs through arm tackles.

Well if he isn't in the top 5, I would be happy if UCONN could nab him as a consolation prize. Seriously, he looks fantastic on that tape, and I am not including the typical, take a pitch and just run untouched 80 yards for a score. He ran in a traditional I several times and looked great.

Yeah I've been high on Cooper for a little while. Can't wait for this next signing year to play out. I think we have some momentum, with the way some local kids are chatting on twitter, It would be soooo big to close on 2 of 3 cooper, outlow, newsome. IF Not ALL 3! Imagine the playmakers on Offense their Freshman year.
