Now we can add Linnae Harper to this list also

Not everyone can shine bright like a Diamond.

.-.
Everyone on this list has transferred from the original school they committed to- some of them twice. There are many others (not on the list) that have also transferred. I was thinking it was originally an aberration. Now I’m not so sure. UNC transfers (DeShields & Gray) are understandable with the pending sanctions. Brown of MD who was an all-American candidate on a team with two consecutive final four appearances is perhaps the most puzzling.
I don't understand Brown either. She seemed at home with Maryland and was coming off an outstanding season.

As far as far all the others from '13 and '14' are concerned maybe it is a trend. Maybe a new breed of athletes is not willing to stay the course, and instead is willing to extend for a year while sitting out.

We've seen transfers leave here seeking more playing time, or for reasons related to personal distress, but it certainly seems as if some of the movement we are now witnessing is inspired by the players' desire to look for a more compatible system; a better potential showcase.

Maybe it's just a blip - maybe not.

There must have been something in the water for the class of 2013. Did a quick check for the class of 2012 there was only 1 transfer of note in top 40-Alexis Jones of Duke. In 2014 so far there have been 2 in top 40 Sierra Calhoun and Sadie Edwards. For the class of 2013 5 of the top 10 have transferred and a 6th Reimer of ND came close.

I can understand any individual transfer at any point based on a wide range of reasons, but 2013 class numbers are a really strange situation, obviously enhanced by the collapse of the UNC situation - though given the molasses movement of the NCAA investigation, it is looking doubtful that any of the athletes from that class will be affected, unless they were all planning to major in the African Studies program.

I sort of expect a number of transfers of deep bench players each year, and coaching change situations are always difficult on the athletes, but for starters or prime bench players transferring in high numbers is not something that is usual.

And I think Kiah's situation is an indication that if you have real talent, you minutes and stats on your college team are not a deterrent to a professional career.

FYI - did anyone post that Michala Johnson's sister Malayna has gone down with an ACL this preseason.
