SHE IS GREAT, BEEN GREAT ALL YEAR, ND PART 3 WAS THE ONLY 'BIG' GAME SHE DIDNT ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE.

AS GOOD AS SHE IS AND AS GOOD AS SHE IMPROVED OVER LAST YEAR... THIS SUMMER SHE NEEDS TO WORK ON BALL HANDLING, BECAUSE IT IS EVIDENT THAT SHE SHOULD BE OUR GO-TO GIRL IN CLOSE GAMES... BUT SHE CANT HANDLE THE BALL AND GETTING IT TO HER IS CLEARLY VERY DIFFICULT.

While KML is working on her ball handling (which you seem to find so lacking), can you please work on posting without all CAPS?
Further, I highly recommend that KML work on what the coaches advise as opposed to what posters here think they see. I know it's difficult for most of us (myself included) to realize that what we see is 40 minutes but the coaches see a much more complete picture. Further, it's difficult for us outside to remember/realize/accept that there are only so many hours in a day to work on skills. Or put another way; What skill should KML stop working on to instead work on ball handling?

I see nothing wrong with the OP other than the all caps. We all have opinions as fans as to what the players should work on. I think Moriah should spend the summer doing strength training. Bria should go to PG school, not because she's going to be the PG, but because when she is, better decisions are needed when she has the ball. Those are just 2 examples of my opinion as to what the players "should" work on over the summer.

People can feel free to disagree, as you did. I actually tend to agree with the OP, not so much that she needs better ball handling, but maybe she needs to work more on creating her own shot. She scored the first basket in the 2nd half, and then didn't score again for the remaining 19:30. Sure they blanketed her, but somehow ND's best player against UCONN, McBride, managed to score 20+ against us... and she's no faster than KML...

KML's handle isn't that bad...her deficiencies were highlighted because ND has three guards who can handle the ball. Lloyd, McBride and Diggins as exceptional ball handlers. Could KML stand to improve her handle...sure, so could about 95 % of all Division I Women's basketball players. Can you imagine how difficult it would be if KML improves her handle and can starts taking players off the dribble...She would be an absolute nightmare for anyone trying to guard her. You would be talking about an improved re-incarnation of Diana Taurasi.

On another note...it wouldn't hurt KML this year if some of UConn sets were set up to use picks and double picks to free up KML and get her more shots...after all we have a kid who can hit 1 out of two shots from three...we should be getting her as many shots as she can handle.

EW SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST ABSOLUTELY HERE TO BRING PEOPLE DOWN, ITS A SHAME
1. IF I WANT TO POST IN CAPS PLEASE BELIEVE I WILL CONTINUE TO. EVER THINK THERE IS A REASON FOR IT, OR DO WE ONLY THINK ABOUT OURSELVES.
2. IF YOU REALLY DONT LIKE WHAT I HAVE TO SAY THATS FINE, BUT ITS MY OPINION. WHY MUST YOU REPLY TO SOMETHING YOU DONT LIKE. BRUSH IT OFF AND CLICK BACK TO THE PREVIOUS SCREEN.
3. DONT BE HYPOCRITICAL.

It's not a zero sum game.

Post as you want but because ALL CAPS are very hard to read it probably means very few people will bother to read your posts. If you have a reason for using caps such as a visual deficit, share it and people will possibly understand. Until then in NETIQUETTE all caps is considered shouting and shouting rarely adds clarity to an argument.

What I think KML needs to work on RIGHT NOW, is her dance moves, so she'll be ready for her introduction under the spotlight at the National Championship game.

I think she needs a few Diva moves for accepting the Final Four MOP trophy...

In the short term the thing that would probably give the most bang for the buck would be to continue practicing on having KML either evading the traps and double-teams or better locating the open 'man' when the hard doubles do come. At least against teams with athletic and aggressive players at the 1-3 spots. It probably wont matter much before the E8 but in the FF it will be a factor.

Better anticipation and reaction could help make teams (ND?) pay for defending KML this way b/c she is not going to get better athletically between now and early April. (It didn't seem like we made them pay a price in our recent games.) These are things that can be sharpened up a bit during that time. Maybe this will get more emphasis than usual at practice during the layoff. Just a possibility.

P.S. just echoing the OP....KML is the Truth! :)

Not necessarily. I'll join the others and ask you -- once and I hope nicely -- to cut it out.

We've asked this of others in the past, because all caps are considered discourteous in a couple of respects ("shouting;" harder to read). People have been cooperative.

If your situation, as you imply, is different, please explain to me by private message (via your Inbox, upper right). Otherwise, you'd best not count on the longevity of further all caps posts.
