To me there were 4 great things about the rivalry...

1. The games almost always were meaningful - during the regular season they were usually the 2 top teams, and in the NCAA's it was almost always for the NC
2. The fan bases really don't like each other, nor do they like the other team's coach (back when it was Pat/Geno)
3. Pat and Geno ARE larger than life. So different, but so great in different ways
4. More often than not UCONN beat the snot out of them.

Having said that I don't miss the series at all, except for the chance to yet again beat the snot out of them. It's fun to see them in the national picture again, but still so so far behind UCONN.
