Remember it like it was yesterday. Those battles against Gtown and Iverson were classic

Today's refs would have called a foul on the follow up of Iverson's miss. Guaranteed.

I remember having a pee wee hockey game that morning and all morning not being able to focus on my own game because I was so excited for this one. Remember going nuts in the living room when Ray hit the shot. I was 11.

Wow. 20 years. Thanks for posting. I was there that night. what still sticks in my mind besides that shot is at after the game my 11 year old son and I went the hotel where the team was staying and he finds himself walking with Calhoun with his arm around my son's shoulder in the lobby as he headed to the elevator. Tableau in my mind that will last forever. Little did I envision all of the fabulous memories to come.

go to about the 2:10 mark and you see the end and Calhoun going through a large range of emotions in a few seconds. Classic early UConn Calhoun.

Pandemonium in Towers that night. "We want UMass" chants outside. Calhoun with the dance-turned-sorry face for Thompson. Ray Allen running over that poor girl in celebration. This one had everything.

I was there, though 10-year-old me had trouble seeing around all the people standing.

I'll never forget that night. The TV was out so I listened to this on WLIS and was really impressed with Ricky Moore, who I'd previously underestimated. I also had a Mounds Bar that day.

There's punks....and then there's punks. Now Devendorf...that's a punk.

I personally loved Iverson and the chip on his shoulder, especially given his size.
And his ability. In other words he could back it up. So beating him was that much better. I was in a bar / pizza place watching this game. The only UConn fan among people who didn't know the game was on (San Jose CA). Went nuts and everyone thought I was nuts. The bartender bought me a beer because I looked happy.

20 years ago? Does Mounmouth have memories like this that are twenty years old?
