Bottom 5th, a 2 out RBI single brings in 2 runs to make it 6-3 Xavier. A walk loads the bases again, but they are all left on base.

Think we are finding out how spoiled we were with Donlan catching last year.
 
Top 6th, a 1 out double for Morton. Pitching change. 6-5 Xavier going to the bottom of the inning.
 
Bottom 6th, Kirby faces the minimum, with the inning ending on a double play. 6-5 Xavier.

Suspect that Kirby may stay in for as long as he is effective, basically helping to save a big chunk of the UConn bullpen for the doubleheader tomorrow.

Top 7th, following the 2 homers, UConn puts 2 more runners on base with singles by Broadhurst and Tammaro, but that is it for the UConn offense that inning. 7-6 UConn. Broadhurst has 4 hits on the game so far.

Bottom 7th, after 1 out, 2 batters reach base on a single off the wall and a hit by pitch. Kirby coming out, Ellisen coming in to pitch. A 2 out walk loads the bases. A ground out ends the inning with no runs coming in, 7-6 UConn.

Top 9th, UConn offense goes down 1-2-3. 7-6 UConn.

Fogell starts the bottom of the 9th on the mound.

One thing that would be easy to do is add up runs scored at home versus runs scored on the road or at neutral sites.

14 in the 8 home games before today. So 1.75 HRs per game at home and 1.6 HRs per game on the road. And I believe they hit 2 more today so right on pace

I counted 37 HRs on the road for Xavier…they’ve played on the road a lot.(go here and then click game by game)
