They should. Unless they can recover tomorrow.Definitely dropping out of the top 20.
Even that won’t be enough. They should. Unless they can recover tomorrow.
You’re right, it’s a small sample sizeI realize this is a small sample size (2 recent televised games), but our opponents seem to have more skill players. We're big and we hit, but the playmaking ability isn't there. We also seem to make more turnovers. Again, small sample size.
I don’t think that has anything to do with it...we lost to UML in OT and just played poorly today. It just so happens that PC is playing really well right now...and they are ranked higher than us. Everyone in the top tier of HE is capable of winning on any given night.Maybe it's a coincidence but ever since we got that number next to our name, we've lost some focus and tenacity.
And I don't mean tenacity like throwing the body around, I mean tenacity as in winning more grind plays, working through bodies, plays along the board, etc. Especially tonight.
It’s a coincidence. Players play...sometime they don’t play well. No one on this team ever underestimates a Hockey East opponent or thinks a number next to the teams name really means they are that good.Focus in our own end is a problem absolutely these last 2 games. Could be just a coincidence that it's happened since we've been ranked who knows. But it's been a major issue.
I agree, they’ve gotten loose w/ the puck. It’s almost like the Merrimack games (not necessarily the resulting ranking) gave them a false sense of security/superiority.Focus in our own end is a problem absolutely these last 2 games. Again...I don’t agree. This is a tough league...it’s easy to be outplayed by someone and the difference in talent is not great from team to team in the top tier of the league. PC is playing its best hockey of the year right now and UML has always given us fits. There is no reason to think the boys are reading their own clippings...it’s just Hockey East...it‘s bruising, tough hockey and sometimes, someone just plays better than you. Frustrating as it may be, the reasons for a loss are usually as simple to find as the other team just played better.I agree, they’ve gotten loose w/ the puck. It’s almost like the Merrimack games (not necessarily the resulting ranking) gave them a false sense of security/superiority.
Firstov and Turnbull both didn’t play late...hopefully they aren’t hurt. Two things need to happen tomorrow.
No dumb mistakes in our end.
Firstov-Kondalik-Evans line needs to come out strong and make their presence known early.
