Padilla with a web gem in the 5th to rob UMBC of a single! Nothing going for UMBC this inning, as Sears records his 9th strikeout of the game to record the final out. Sears is at 93 pitches - he might be able to give us one more.

New pitcher in for UMBC. UConn's first two batters are retired quickly on hard hit balls, then the next two reach base on a HBP and a walk. Jonesy plays an April Fool's joke on his broadcast partner by saying that Caleb Love transferred to Duke. LOL.

Morton pops up to end the inning.

Afthim scuffling in the 7th, after issuing a double and a walk. No outs.

Now there's 3 outs as no one comes around to score. Afthim looks nasty out there.

After a Studley leadoff single, Broadhurst pops out. Padilla rips a single into right field, and because the hit and run was on, Studley reaches third base. New pitcher for UMBC.

Tamarro bunts in 2 runs. UMBC is not a great team. 10-2 and UConn is still threatening.

11-2 after a Garbo sac fly. He's having a nice game. Going to the 8th inning now.

Michael Quigley out on the mound now. Like Sears and Afthim, he's in the 93-95 range. All of the UMBC pitchers have been 82-86. There's (obviously) a massive talent disparity between these teams in all three phases of the game. I will say Leewood Molessa is a UConn / ACC calibur player and wouldn't mind him transferring in...hehehe

Quiggers with an easy 1-2-3 inning.

UConn threatens in the 8th but gets nothing. Broadhurst has had a rough game, going 0-5. 11-2 UConn going to the 9th.

Anyone know how hard Carrea was throwing? My feed crapped out.

Good effort today.

Sullivan pitches a scoreless top of the 1st. His stuff looks hittable today but he should be able to avoid damage if he can avoid free 90's.

Nice at bat by Broadhurst, who works a long at bat and turns it into a single.

Morton follows up with a double. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, no outs. Daniels up.

Daniels strikes out and Hyde hits into an RBI fielder's choice. 1-0 UConn, 2 outs.

Padilla grounds out to end the inning. UMBC is playing well so far, happy we are ahead.

Sully threw an easy 3rd inning.

With 1 out, Freeberger walks and the Albino Rhino hits a double. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, one out. Broadhurst cashes them in with a 2 RBI single after Studley struck out. Morton hits a scorcher to third, which the third basemen impressively gloves but sailed the throw high enough to force the first basemen off the bag. After Morton steals 2nd with no throw, we have runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. A wild pitch scores 2 runs (UMBC is not that great at baseball!) 5-0 UConn after 3 - UMBC's start is around 77 pitches.

Anyone getting audio on the video replays? The only one I've had in the past three or four home games was the one posted by the UMBC side. Joe D came through loud and clear. The UConn posts are silent, with not even background noise.

Bases loaded for UMBC with just 1 out. Some big pitches from Sully coming up vs the bottom of their order try to prevent a big inning.

A double play ends the inning with no damage! 5-0 UConn going to the bottom of the 4th.
