With a 90% chance of rain, I don’t think this one gets played. The warm part is in play…it’s just that the wet part may be problematic.

Dan Hurley on Sunday? Or just one for a getaway day? Sunny and 50 on Sunday.

Agreed. They are using it as a soft opening for yard goats- getting their staff ready for opening day- and they are even keeping that true of the prices.

Looks like the rain is supposed to stop early afternoon. Maybe they'll postpone the start to 3 or so? I don't think they play a double header on a Sunday getaway day (4-5 hours back to BMore, depending on traffic) for a non-conference game.

The game looks sparsely attended...hopefully people will show up when they see that the weather is fine.

UMBC starts off the game with a 2 run home run.

.-.
Sears retires the final 2 hitters without further damage after Coach Mac gave Sears a "pep talk." 2-0 UMBC going to the bottom of the 1st.

UMBC's starter is throwing 2016 Jered Weaver fastballs. 83-85 MPH.

He faces the minimum after Huber strikes out and interferes with the throw down to second. Freeberger had previously singles. Rough series for the albino rhino so far.

Nice bounce-back inning for Sears, taking advantage of this umpire's (consistent) low strikezone. 2-0 UMBC going to the bottom of the 2nd.

2 out rally time? After a nice single by Padilla, Tamarro gets a bunt single. Padilla reached 3rd on the play via error.

UConn tries the dead duck play and it fails. Padilla is tagged out at home.

.-.
Garbowski leads off with a single, and after an out, the wind plays tricks on an outfielder and forces a misplay on a line drive. Runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

An error on a throw allows UConn to score its first run. UMBC appears to be another UConn opponent that does not play defense.

Albino Rhino ties the game at 2 after an RBI single!

3 run bomb by Studley! 5-2 huskies going to the 4th inning. Lots of hard contact now.

Another easy inning for Searrs, who gives up a 2 out single and nothing else. 5-2 UConn going to the bottom of the 4th inning, Sears is at 7 strikeouts.

Garbowski having a good game, as he draws a walk to lead off the inning. Can we get the separation we failed to get yesterday?

After a Morton lineout, Smith hits a double to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Freeberger up.

Freeberger with a 3 run bomb! 8-2 UConn going into the 5th. I know this pitcher is throwing batting practice, but it's nice to see us take care of business and make UMBC pay for trying to save their bullpen.
