20% of the way through the season...

We're a much improved team.

I want to see us play Arizona, FSU and UCF to see how much. Should tell us.

189. Memphis
200. Tulane
242. ECU

The top 5 are the same everywhere. Those are your AAC tournament and bubble teams right there. Memphis has some work to do to get into that conversation.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust syllables.com because it doesn't offer the actual, spoken alternatives. "caramel" it decrees is 3 syllables, "crayon," 2. Trust your ear.

I, like you, have always heard it as feel plus D, but have heard the Fi'- eld. And, I'm sure, given the way English works, there are are people you say "feel" as two syllables /fiːəl/.

That tells me it can be either. But then again, when it comes to language I'm a descriptivist rather than a prescriptivist.
Interesting tangent...

Back to your OP. UConn is still in the high double digits only because they haven't played more than two games against name opponents and beat the teams they should through 6 games. We fans notice because we follow the team with passion and see a huge difference from 2017-18. The eye test, however, is still more or less subjective, which is what the ranking try to remove from the equation.

UConn's rankings will probably more closely reflect the eye test as conference play starts to get underway.
