Wasn't Ashmore an assistant under Perno?

Harry Gampel paid $1million for the naming rights to the building and his name is now world famous.

Now we are charging $2 million to name an office.

wow, how far we have come!

Mr Whelen is a gentleman from what I am told and his employees stay and work there forever. `There is UConn pictures and stuff everywhere when you go in to the open lobby. He's a huge fan and his company has grown over the years with many contracts from states, countries, government etc etc........has his own lane and air strip right near the facility.

Also sponsor of several modified racing series including one in Europe. These folks seem to do things right.

that's a lot of dough for an office, I'm really impressed by the recent increasesin donations to the university, it's a good sign.

Are we sure this is for real. The date of the memo is 12/10/14 which is in 6 days??
The BOT agenda is always posted approximately one week prior to the scheduled meeting.

If I had the cash and Syracuse offered this... Oh man Jim Calhoun's name would be all over that orange. I can see the riots now.

How 'bout this impressive added benefit from the Whelen Engineering website:
"All products proudly designed, manufactured and assembled in the U.S.A.

Can we get a huge sign with Enzo Patoni's name on it to cover up his crumbling masterpiece of ceiling tiles? I think everyone on the boneyard would chip in.
Those ceiling tiles are a disgrace to UCONN. You look up and see the shredded tiles right next to the championship banners.

Whelen Engineering Inc. was founded in 1952 by George W. Whelen III with the development of a rotating aircraft "anti-collision beacon" product that quickly found use with police, fire and public safety departments across the country and around the world.

Whelen is now the world's largest designer and manufacturer of emergency visual and audible warning products. Whelen is the only United States manufacturer of emergency warning equipment that continues to design and manufacture all of its products entirely in the United States.

Whelen is the entitlement sponsor of three NASCAR grass-roots racing series and is the major corporate sponsor of the Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project, Inc., the designer and supplier of bobsleds to the USA Bobsled Team, including the "Night Train" four-man bobsled that won the Olympic Gold Medal at the Vancouver Olympics.

Located in Chester, CT, Whelen Engineering is owned by George W. "Sonny" Whelen IV, son of the company's founder. The company's website is www.Whelen.com.

Whelen Eng. is located in Chester where I work and they are by far the largest employer in town. Sonny is also a well known race care driver and spend the majority of his time racing. His collection of cars is AMAZING! I have frequently seen him racing his Vette in the American Le Mans Series on Speed channel (now FS1).

Very successful organization. they dominate the market for their products.

I'm psyched that they are strong UCONN HUSKIES supporters.
