#1recruit for 2023 picks USC

Judea Watkins just picked USC over SC..glad to see that..her other finalist was Stanford

Actually, the lawsuit between Southern Cal and SCar years ago was not over "USC" but over "SC".

The Court ruled that SCar could not copyright the interlocking SC we use in baseball. Southern Cal can also use it. I guess Santa Clara, etc, etc can use it too.

Not unlike Caitlin Clark who was also recently signed by Nike, JuJu has chosen to stay close to home.

Coach "Gottlieb said of Watkins. "But what I am most excited about is that JuJu the human being is joining the USC family. This is a young woman with transcendent talent, but she is also uniquely motivated. She is about things bigger than herself: her family, her team, her community, her city. JuJu had the courage to stay home and is driven to bring USC women's basketball back to prominence. What a monumental day for all of us in the Trojan Family."
A native of Watts, Calif., Watkins is sticking to her Los Angeles roots in becoming a Trojan...

She will be transferring after she sees what kind of a coach Lindsay Gottlieb really is!

Plus remember that USC and UCLA are joining the Big 10 so the east coast will get to see them play.

I've never seen a number 1 recruit ever transfer.

Oh I forgot. When do they move into the Big Ten?
2024. So we probably won’t see her freshman year unless USC picks up some national games with Fox or ESPN affiliated schools.. but we will get to see her on a national scale sophomore year onward on the Big Ten Network.

NIL and tinsel town. She bout to get paid!! I ain’t mad at her. Get yo bag as they say. She gone be a starrah! My opinion ONLY. Not a basketball decision.

Wasn't Brittany Hunter #1 in her class?
Good call!!!

At the time I thought she had the potential and skill set to be like a Candace Parker. Oh, what could have been, if not for her injuries.

BTW I live about 10 minutes from USC. About 25 minutes from UCLA. Please, UCONN, start scheduling home/homes with those schools!!

You will if you get the Big Ten Network.

1) The Big 10 also have their streaming service Big 10+ for games not broadcasted on their main channel.

2) Didn't the Big Ten recently close a new deal with Fox that will expand TV coverage for women's basketball?

3) While PAC12's network isn't the greatest, at least some of USC's games are streamed live for free during non-conference play. It will be possible to see her during freshman season, provided you can handle the time difference if you're in a different time zone.

You have to respect that. I will be pulling for her. Hopefully Southern Cal can put some talent around her and the fans show up and support her and the team.

You can win anywhere if the players come.

So good luck to her trying to recreate something at So. Cal.

Oh man, if there was ever a record that's made to be broken, this one is it. Some (number) one will be the first

Wow. Will anyone see her play ?
I will. She’ll be right in my back yard, so will her family and friends. Staying close to home was important to her. She could have gone to UCLA if she wanted to. She’ll play in aninemity as USC is never on local or national network TV. All of their games are on the Pac 12 Network.

She’ll never play for a NC. I seriously doubt she’ll ever play for a conference championship. USC is a perennial 2nd tier team that regulrly resides in the bottom half of their conferece standings. She’ll be the face of that program the day she steps on campus. She will get her share of NIL endorsements.

She will start all 4 years. She will be a 1st round draft pick in the 2027 WNBA draft. Going to USC won’t affect her draft appeal. Congratulations to her. She and her family decided that Troy was the best fit for her.

I’m part of the USC family. I’ve been a fan of their football program since 1964. My brother is grad school graduate from USC class of 1980. Welcome to the family Juju. :)

I agree. She did not choose USC because of their head coach Lindsey Gottlieb, but in spite of her. Former HC at Cal. Gottlieb did nothing of notoriety while there.

I’m a little further out. About 45 minutes from the Galen Center, an hour fifteen from Westwood if the traffic flow on the 10 fwy is moving.

I too would love for UConn to come to So Cal for games with USC and UCLA, but I can’t think of a reason why they would want to. Unless they want to go to Disneyland and Universal Studios. Or stroll the boardwalk on Venice Beach or the Santa Monica Pier. None one of those attractions are worth a 5 hour plane trip in both directions.
