pretty cool to have Ricky Moore and Kevin Freeman on the staff, gotta show off those rings to the team to make them hungry, even though some guys on our team have one already.

I remember when I saw the staff hosting Sam Cassell Jr. on his official visit at Geno's. Kevin Freeman, Glen Miller & Ricky Moore were all sitting at the table and they each had their championship rings on. I'm sure they angled their rings a few times to have the glare in Cassell's eyes.

@3uconn @husky99 @Zionn

Any other recruits going to be there on Sunday besides Govan? Seems like this might be a coordinated recruiting/honor "event" similar to the Michigan game in the Fall. It would make sense. Anybody else coming?
As of now I'm not aware of anyone. Govan isn't positive yet himself. It's not a done deal that he's visiting.

Ah, that's the reason for the joke. Cuse's win didn't count because both Rip and Jake were out. So good job for Miami for being the only team to beat the eventual national champs.

Not quite the reason. This was an epic chatroom with "cto" (Cuse fan and used to be Boneyard semi-regular) visiting and having her sense of reality shaken and history re-written, all at the same time.

Can't wait to see who is in attendance. Hopefully all of them. Good opportunity for Espn to show a replay before the game or some highlights of the season.

Well this thread sent me down a youtube hole for a good 45 mins. :)

No reason for it not to be halftime. Too bad this event seems to be so slap-dash.

Yes, Dom confirms your thoughts per email:

Me: Hey Dom,
It was previously reported that they would be honored before the game. Was there a change to move it to half time?

Dom: Last night, I was told halftime.

Dom: But to be honest, it seems like this is being put together on the fly. Not sure they know exactly what they're going to do or who is coming. Details are still being worked out.

Me: Thanks for getting back to me.
I assume that you will blog the info as you receive it.

Dom: Yes, will tweet, blog, get it out there on all platforms

Dom: Official team twitter account says halftime. That was tweeted befor last nights game.

Well Ricky and KFree will definitely be there.

This guy better show up! He was the wild card in our winning the Championship saving his best game for last!! For you 'in college' kids google the image.

I remember buying a hat outside the Tropicana from a shady looking guy. A UCONN patch was on the front of the hat. Looking at it closely, I saw that it was stuck on not sewn. I pulled the patch off and underneath was the Duke patch. Someone was playing the odds that day and quickly reversed the mistake.

If they're honoring the team at halftime, does anyone know if that will include 1999 team manager Josh Nochimson? Guess he's a Husky of Honor now.

Lol hope he isn't disappointed when he learns we are playing SMU

@ripcityhamilton: Heading to Storrs for the Honoring of The 99 Championship Team . #UConnVsSDSU #Holdat… http://post original url/hsa7bIIZJp

@GavinKeefe: All five starters from the national championship team are expected to be here -- El-Amin, Moore, Freeman, Hamilton and Voskuhl. #UConn.

Now I really wish I could be there. Please, everyone who will be there, take pics and videos!

I assume one of you will be recording the ceremony. Please post on the web for all of us to watch it.

So who from the 1999 team showed up?
Sounds like it was the starters (Moore, Hamilton, El-Amin, Freeman & Voskuhl), Wane & Beau Archibald. For coaches, I believe it was Tom Moore, Karl Hobbs & JC.

Hush, I think that's an NCAA recruiting violation. I'm sure Dan Wetzel is monitoring this forum. ;-)
