Any excuse for that egregiously bad call on Clingan?

Bad call? No. I know DC loves Hurley. It was down to UConn & Michigan. But, a blueblood that has more championships then we do, came into the picture very late. And that worried me.

Mmmm, you were pretty clear it was a done deal and Donovan wasn't coming here.

Way to brighten up an otherwise gloomy day here in VT. Thank you Coach Calhoun.

“Coach K’s family sensing, perhaps, the end is nigh.”

I still get annoyed they missed that egregious over the back call on battier with under 2 minutes left.

But it did make for a better ending

i was there that night. Up in the nosebleeds. At the end of the game, all I could think of was all those games in the Field House. The dirt floor! The leaky roof! the total lack of respect! I had tears in my eyes when I said to myself and my wife, "We are National Champions!"

A 36hr bus trip with my 14 year old daughter, buying tickets from scalpers in an alley ( the 50 people at our house for the championship game unaware that I wasn’t in Connecticut ). Some civil disobedience ( stole a 5 ft final 4 banner hanging 25ft off the ground on a lamp post which is tucked away in my safe) and 22 years later after my marriage and the birth of my 6 kids this still comes in as my favorite memory of all time.

Best mascot logo and uniforms.

Instantly recognizable as UConn Huskies and basketball.

The unsung hero in that game was Ricky Moore. I think Duke underestimated his athleticism.

Unsung how? Unsung as in dook didn't game plan for him being able to shut down dook's guards?

From a post-game analysis and historical perspective I think Ricky has gotten plenty of recognition and kudos for his performance.

I would say he was a little more then an unsung hero, he was a top 3 star of the game.

We need a consistent/reliable shooter like Rip again (as he says the obvious!) That was a GREAT UConn team!

It was a great night. I was in the 2nd section. I remember the OSU and MSU fans were pulling for UConn, too. Basically anyone that wasn't a Duke fan, was pulling for UConn. I stayed at the Holiday Inn, which was strange because they had mostly MSU fans. But those fans were cool as hell and congratulated me as if I was a player for UConn after they won.:)

Still worried about burning your source?

God I still get chills when Langdon falls and the team runs across the court

I might be in the minority here, but I never did like Nantz' call,
"Sometimes when you think you can't, you can, and UCONN has won the national championship."

As CardChronical.com notes, "One of the all-time greats. Nantz decides he's going to tarnish what was one of the best games of the 90's by uttering this line that obviously took him no less than eight days to concoct."

The Fieldhouse had a dirt floor? I don’t remember that.

When I dropped my pen used for keeping score, I went down under the bleachers at halftime to retrieve the pen.

Dirt floor.

I was kind of surprised not to see it in the Karaban video that was posted, until I thought it through more.
