The ‘Dream Season’ - it lit up the state like no other season up till that time. If you worked in Connecticut Corporate America everyone was talking about them day after a game even folks who were not fans.

Probably one of the loudest if not the loudest games I was ever at when Georgetown came into Civic Center with Alonzo Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo (RIP) and #1 in the polls on the line only to get beat by UConn.

Personally, the Dream Season and the 2024 championship season are my 2 favorite UConn years.

I was at that Georgetown and Cuse games that were a coming out party for the program . The old Mall was literally shaking from the noise. The thing with that year is the fan base was more rabid fans less corporate than at least the next few years so we were more inclined to insanity .

I still credit Chris Smith staying home in CT as the catalyst that helped jump start the program.

Calhoun has said Chris Smith was the most important recruit in UConn Basketball history. Donny Marshall to this day says Chris Smith is his all-time favorite Husky.

Dan Cyrulik looks like he’s ready to haul off and do someone’s taxes.

Remember him dancing after beating Shaq LSU? It was then I learned what the word “cringe” meant.

Still my favorite Husky squad though.
