Bottom 6th, Stefanoni gives up 2 walks, but comes up with a scoreless inning with the aide of another double play.

Starting to turn lots of these. Very good sign going forward for this defense.

Yeah, that was something I had noticed as well. Considering they were not turning any at all earlier in the season, it is a significant improvement.

Top 9th, UConn leaves a couple runners on base. 14-2 Huskies.

Bottom 9th, Jack Sullivan in to pitch for UConn.

Great job HookC - we know the RPI is not going to be up to our usual level so we have to just win baby!

2nd hottest team in the northeast. Rutgers has won 14 straight, their RPI is 28, and 10-1 in the B1G. Wish they were on UConn’s schedule
Comparison came up in this week’s D1Baseball Top 25 Chat:

-> Rod: Rutgers now 25-6/8-1 in B10, leading a Power 5 in pitching, fielding and hitting. Presumably they are sitting outside top 25 since B10 has had a bit of a down year, but why does northeast neighbor UConn continue to get rewarded for a similarly soft schedule? (Without referencing RPI SOS which we all know is flawed)

Kendall Rogers: Rod — Good question. We discussed Rutgers for the Top 25 this week, but I definitely wouldn’t say its resume sniffs UCONN. UCONN has a win over Louisville (on the weekend), a road win over USC, a road series win over Pepperdine, who is decent this season. Rutgers’ marquee win so far? I’m trying to find it … and oh yeah, there’s a little series loss at Omaha. RU is damn good but clearly behind UCONN in the pecking order and resume wise <-

I agree they should be on our schedule for a H/H every year (or every other year) - BC makes it happen. I believe Penders has talked about trying to make it a reality in the past (they haven’t played each other in 7-8 years?).

Typo in your post. You said Stefanoni gave up two walks in one inning.

The typo is on your end, not on mine, it actually happened. The interesting thing is that Stefanoni has given up 9 walks on the year now, and 7 of them were in the last 2 games he pitched. Between those two games he gave up only one earned run in 15 innings, so despite the walks, they were quality starts, that's for sure, no question about it.
