Cooke on the mound, Garbowski @ Dan Hurley but no Dana in the line-up today:

Brown also back in the lineup at 3B, David Smith gets a start in the outfield, kind of a continuation of the latter part of the game against Northeastern. Fedko back to the bench.

Chris Jones says that Casey Dana had to get 26 stitches in his arm, he got stuck by the catcher's cleats. Should be back in 7 to 10 days.

OUCH

Top 1st, a Brown error on the leadoff batter puts a runner at 2B, but Cooke gets the next 3 hitters for a scoreless inning.

Willy Yahn in on the broadcast with Jones.
Statcast still has the Nova game. Anyone with a better link?

Donlin has a gun, but that kid either got a bad jump or just shouldn’t be attempting steals.

Chris Jones saying that if UConn gets out to a big lead early in this game, Cooke will be taken out early so he could be used in the Butler series this weekend. But if this game is close, Cooke will stay in for as long as he is needed, which would preclude him from pitching in the Butler series.

It's working now. Whenever there is a problem with the Statcast for home games, I send an email to Chris Jones. Don't know if he has anything to do with getting it working, but it usually starts working again soon after I send the email.

Bottom 2nd. Padilla with a leadoff double, and Garbowski follows with a walk. Smith with an infield single to load the bases with 1 out. Simmons with a sac fly, 2-0 UConn.

Top 3rd, Cooke strands runners on the corners for a scoreless inning. 2-0 UConn. Cooke at 53 pitches and 3 strikeouts on the game.

Bottom 3rd, Huber with a leadoff double, he moves to 3B on a wild pitch. Bushling follows with a walk to put runners on the corners with no outs. Huber scores on an rbi ground out by Donlan, 3-0 UConn. Garbowski with a 2 out rbi double, 4-0 UConn.

UConn seems to be getting over its hitting woes from the last few games.

By the way, I love seeing someone trying to steal 2B with 2 outs. A good percentage play in my mind, as it would normally take two hits to score the runner from 1B.

Top 5th, leadoff single for Yale. Donlan does it again, picking off the runner at 1B for the first out. Plenty of traffic on the bases for Yale this inning, but Cooke strands a couple runners in scoring position for a scoreless inning. 5-0 UConn. Cooke is at 84 pitches.

Devin Kirby was warming up that inning.

Huber getting hot would be huge to help us out of the hitting funk.

Cooke won't be pitching this weekend with the high pitch count.

Bottom 5th, UConn loads the bases with no outs. Brown with a sac fly, everyone on base tags and moves up. 6-0 UConn.
