Love this line

So, back to the point. There are NO girls in the catalog! Oh, wait, sorry. There IS a girl in the catalog on page 6. SITTING in the STANDS.

:D

She's a hoops player? I say recruit her and Mo'ne and call it a day! Seriously, great letter from that young lady. Very well written complete with wit and sarcasm.

She should join us here on the BY.

I am very impressed with this young lady - great attitude, very articulate, to the point but respectful. She will go places for sure!Bet her folks are proud. (Hope to hear what Dick's has to say in reply.....)

PS - Pap, if you link it, I know it's going to be worth a look. Thank you!

Now just wait a minute. Cheerleading is a sport. Those girls on the sidelines work hours at what they do.
Seriously.

Good point! How many 12 year olds (boys or girls) are capable of the "wit and sarcasm"? Me thinks Momma had a hand in it--up to the point of "I, myself"---who does she think she is? Doesn't either one I or Myself define who you are---this statement usually goes along with Me, Myself and I---just to be inclusive. Use either I or Myself or Me using more than one is redundant and incorrect.

Cheerleading is hard work, but that doesn't make it a sport on par with basketball/soccer/softball etc. Sorry.

The letter writer.... Story has been picked up by the national networks

I think we need to differentiate between the bs we see in football and the competitive sport which is closer to gymnastics.

I like the fact that it has just a bit of attitude.

Points to Ed Stack for a nice apology and a plan to answer McKenna's concerns. There is a Microsoft CEO who could take lessons from him....

And a couple University Presidents (Alabama & Kansas St.)

Competitive cheer leading, properly considered, IS a branch of gymnastics. Has absolutely nothing to do with leading cheers.
