100 men vs 1 silverback gorilla

Or a Grizzly fighting the silverback gorilla
I'd bet on the Grizzly
It depends on what you’re calling a grizzly bear. Technically the Kodiak bear is also a grizzly but is a very very large grizzly. The largest recorded Kodiak bear weighed 2130lbs. He probably could take on two or three silverbacks and still come out on top.

Sorry for being gruesome but after the first couple of men get their limbs torn off then the next wave will be able to improvise stabbing weapons. Broken and shattered bones are very sharp.
Also, if it is truly a “fight to the death” then it is silly to state that the men would quit when someone’s head is ripped off
Interesting take, you psychopath.

The only Kodiak on this board is Tarris Reed, Jr.

Grizzly and it's not close.

I think Mighty Joe Young could beat up any Grizzly or any group of 100 guys.

I really think that comes down to the human. 100 Yarders wouldn't stand a chance and I would spend my early time in the fight, shoving Dove towards the gorilla. You give me 100 MMA fighters and I think, absolutely, they could win.
If it were a hundred yarders then it would be a complete massacre. They would go off on a tangent and discuss pizza, beer and double bigs. Whoever is left would die while debating why cooper Flagg chose Duke

This thread has turned in to Americana.

Starts off with bar talk about some hypothetical.

A few positions are staked out.

Anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot.

A few articles/videos are linked clearly answering the question.

Others chine in saying the hypothetical is unrealistic or they create a different scenario which would result in different results.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Answer is 100 humans win every time.

First of all, gorillas don’t normally prey on humans, this isn’t a fake Tarzan movie. To make this thing fair it would be 100 men in an enclosed cage with a polar bear, no weapons.
Alternatively, 100 men in an enclosed ocean cage with a great white shark.
My money is on the animals.
Polar bear in a cage? What a nightmare. a 10 foot tall standup grizley would be pretty scary too. Another possible alternative. 100 men vs 6 - 10 wild boars in the cage. That would be quite a melee.

Is 100 random men any diffRrent than 100 boneyarders? The only way the men win is if a whole bunch of them are wiling to die for the others. I’m not.

Ok lets a assume this takes place in a cage large enough to hold 100 men and a gorilla. Gorillas are pretty docile for the most part so we are going to inject the gorilla with meth sending him into a blinding rage attacking anyone in his vicinity. Heres my question. How long does it take for that gorilla to get through just 20 men?

Gorillas are vegetarians. The absolute terror are the big chimpanzees. 10-15 large chimps would dismember 100 men.
Easily. Chimps are extremely aggressive and are pretty big with some males as big as 200lbs.

Maybe 100 men from 2025bc. I could see those men understanding how to get the job done.

100 men in 2025? No way, gorilla would tear through them. I can’t imagine 10% would possess the bravery or the willingness to risk their lives. Everyone with their own idea about how to get it done because of what they saw on YouTube of TikTok. Confusion would be the cause of death.

There are examples of this type of numbers vs strength in nature. For instance, Japanese Killer Hornets. They will take on large amounts of honeybees. In that situation large amounts of bees die but by engulfing the enemy they have figured out a way of sacrificing themselves to heat up the enemy and essentially fry them to death. I’ve heard the argument that the 100 men could weigh down the gorilla. But I think that is insane. No way with even the most athletic men could they all get on top of something that strong, quick enough.

I got the gorilla winning 100% of the time.
