100 men vs 1 silverback gorilla

Depends...if they shoot it like a movie, the men would attack one at the time and get killed.

IRL a mob of men would jump and pin him down with the force of maybe 20 grown men kicking and punching with 80 more coming in waves.

It all depends, are the 100 men using weapons or just hand to hand combat.

If its just hand to hand it would be like 100 flies vs 1 Man. The Gorilla would be mildly annoyed at best vs 100 men

Silverbacks can lift and throw objects weighing over 1,800 pounds. Their bite force is estimated at around 1,300 PSI. They possess a high ratio of muscle mass to bone and have a greater concentration of fast-twitch muscle fibers,, which support powerful, quick movements. Of course, much like an adult male human, if someone could manage to pull just a single nose hair, they would relent in agony.

I hate to be this guy but I can't help it. Its a huge misconception that fast twitch fibers help you perform movements faster, that isn't the case. A better term for fast twitch vs slow twitch would be fast fatigue vs slow fatigue. Slow twitch fibers are like your postural muscles that are always working to keep you upright.

My question is: what does unarmed mean? Does it mean naked and barefoot? Clothed with boots? Can we pick up what we find, rocks, sticks, branches? If clothed and if we can use the environment (the Gorilla would) then the men probably win. Throwing rocks and sharpening sticks changes the dynamic. If permanently unarmed and naked, they probably lose, but that's not realistic. Out advantage is a brain and opposable thumbs. Otherwise we wouldn't have made it as a species.

Hand to hand combat. No weapons. No clothing or armor or anything that provides either side an advantage.

Gorilla. The men would run. Also, 100 men is too much of a crowd to really get anything done.

Humans don't have the, "I am an ant and I'm willing to die for my community" philosophy. The silverback will tear them to shreds one at a time and most will just run away.
The only way I give the humans a shot is if you could assemble 100 navy seals or MMA fighters skilled in muy thai and hand to hand combat, with the mental makeup of not running when the guy in front of you has his head torn off his body.

If a gorilla was in full fight or flight mode, and then saw 100 twenty first century men naked, he would die laughing.

The men take it.
