1/12: NET 25, KenPom: 25

We spent a long time thinking it was best to be shipped out west. Playing near home is great, but it doesn't decide your fate.

I also believe that we may be a bit too entitled with our expectations if we view not getting a drivable subregional and regional site two years in a row would be a disappointment.
Last year we had Brooklyn and Boston. Are you talking about the 2 years before that? 2023 - Albany and Vegas. 2022 - Buffalo, and eh forget it

The two years in a row I was referring to are Brooklyn-Boston followed up by Providence-Newark. As great as it would be to have those paths in back to back tournaments, it won't be the end of the world if we end up with a path that requires air travel before San Antonio.

Ah, got you

re marquette: "The projected 2-seed likely won't post enough Q1 wins to move up to the top line of the bracket, but a third straight No. 2 would be a remarkable feat for a program that has spent its recent years in the shadow of multiple national champions Villanova and Connecticut."

if a 1 seed is out of reach for marquette then it is for us too. but i'd sign up for the 3 in the east right now.

Ironically, it depends on how many times we can beat Marquette.

The “kill the clock” offense is so painful to watch and tbh I don’t really understand why we do it. Our normal offense takes 20-25 seconds to run anyways. What is the benefit of just dribbling around for 25 seconds and then heaving up a terrible shot? Sure it bleeds the clock the same way our normal offense does, but it kills the spreadsheet math which does make a difference when you are on the edge of a seed line in the NCAAT.

We scored 4 points in the final 8 minutes yesterday. We made a 25 point blowout look like a close game because we just decided to dribble around and get 3 shot clock violations in a row.
We do it to prepare for close games down the road, really big games, tournament games. They'll be a game when we need to use the clock, score and win, so you practice for that.

The GOAT, my avatar, used to practice for that as well. That's why UConn was such a tough out in March
