Came here to point this out too after reading the article. If a UConn freshman has a Kon-like skillset, its Furphy. Mullins oozes 3&D potential. I love this class - Furphy, Reibe and Mullins will all find their way into the NBA.
I always love it when UConn fans crap on programs that are good every year because they don’t finish strong in the tournament. UConn produces a solid team every few years and they always seem to fall backwards into the Final Four. Making it that far is really hard and only 4 teams get to do...
A Big Ten school gets what, $80 million in a year in TV revenue and we get like 6? I don’t think a rational person would pick UConn over MSU in the current climate. We are fortunate we got Hurley when we did and that’s he’s wired the way he is.
No clue. If you want to get money to them directly you can donate to the AD and earmark for basketball or buy things from MBB players through opendorse. I would recommend at a minimum subscribing or following StorrsCentral on YouTube and TikTok.
86% of their revenue goes to athletes or the university and they have branched out to work as a NIL agency for the athletes. But you guys would know that already if you were all in on UConn and subscribed.
1. 2024
2. 2004
3. 1999
4. 2009
5. 2023
6. 2011
7. 2014
I think 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2023 are basically the same. 2024 clear cut above, 2011 and 2014 clearly not in that class.
I don't like assigning goals like FF or NC - We could go 37-0 and be #1 in every metric but lose to a team shooting 100% from 3 in the E8. Things just happen sometimes.
Last year was a disappointing year. I hope we are competitive, play well, and are fun to watch. Make it to March with a good...
I'm in the same boat. I like this team on paper but a lot of questions.
1. How will the PGs assimilate within the team?
2. Will Mullins be an instant impact like Castle or McNeeley?
3. Can the other freshmen play meaningful minutes?
4. Will Ball, Ross and Stewart improve on defense?
5. Will...
I would love to play at Purdue this year. Believe they have an opening for a home game based on past schedules and they feel like a team that the metrics will love despite not being that good. Always a few of those teams a year. Plus gets Mullins a game in Indiana.
If I had to guess Arizona is at Gampel and Texas is at XL. Arizona game would be two days before kids leave for Thanksgiving break and the Texas game is scheduled when exams end/kids go home for the winter.
Even if McNeeley goes 30th he's going to get a 4 year deal for $13 million or so with $5-6 million guaranteed at signing. Unless if he goes through the process and scouts tell him he's not getting drafted, returning for his sophomore year would be a terrible economic decision.
