Glad to see Meg. Sloane Martin has called a lot of basketball, she doesn’t run her mouth as much as a lot of announcers, for which I’m glad.

I gotta go with Caroline. She was only in for 10 minutes or so, but she seemed to be everywhere. Pretty good for just a few minutes into her “comeback.” I also have to give kudos to Ayanna. Great to see her after missing a couple of years.

Yeah, Geno doesn't like zones. OTOH -- The zone is good on defense against teams that want to pound the ball inside, although it isn't good for defensive rebounding. But the small team with both KK and Kayleigh as the slashers, Azzi and Ashlynn (or Allie) as three-point and midrange threats...

I respect your point of view. I'll go out on a limb and possibly anger the basketball goddesses, though, and predict that UConn will overtake both the Catamounts and the Bengals, likely sometime in mid-late February.😱 Or possibly as soon as either school plays someone from Division I.

I should add that I’d like to see Caroline. I’m fine with mentioning threes once. 😉

I thought I saw former UConn reporter Bri Mahn in the first part of this, and she commented on it. Last I knew she was working for ESPN, maybe she’s helping them cover the games. Still hoping she gets on-air work somewhere.

I'm looking forward to Jose getting more exposure than he did at USF. I think he'll be especially well-suited to coaching a young team his first couple of years. Let's hope he has input into the makeup of the team. Paige, Siegrist, and Geiselsoder are a great young trio to build around...

I think both of the Thibeaus (Thibeaux?) could be in the mix, too, if Eric would think of going into the college game. I’ve been impressed with what Carly has been doing at Fairfield.

Looks like a reasonable list except for one thing. Absolutely no players from mid-majors. Brooklyn Meyer of South Dakota State and Maggie Doogan of Richmond are a couple that come immediately to mind.

I noticed in the preseason games how well she was moving without the ball. I didn't notice that against Louisville. I may have missed in her short stint playing, and the issue may have been that the team wasn't setting picks for her, I dunno, but something seemed different to me.

Didn't Heckel say something like, she came to UConn to be coached up to her potential? I like Gottlieb, but something doesn't seem right when she lost half of her hyped-up best in the nation freshman class. And it wasn't Juju, because K9 and Howell transferred out after it was clear Juju would...
