4 guards are not enough.

Jalen, Alterique, Vital and MAL are not enough for next year.

It needs one more, preferably a spot up shooter from Moldova.

Shawn Olden looks like the best option that the staff has engaged with so far. I assume they will be quite active in the spring period.

None worth pursuing. Likely they will scour grad transfer market and juco to round out next years team if I were to guess.

Saw him. He has several nice offers. Florida St, Kansas, Maryland, Ohio St, are the warm ones. Many other teams cool.

I don't think another PG/combo is needed. The 4 guys we have should fill out the 1/2 spots just fine.

The issue is the frontcourt.

As of now, we're looking at Larrier, Durham, Enoch at the 3/4/5, or maybe we go 3 guards with Larrier at the 4.

Either way, that's not remotely good enough. I don't expect much from Polley, Carlton, or Diarra next year.

Another project isn't going to cut it. Bamba or bust, basically.

There are a couple grad transfers, as @Matrim55 can better explain. Think the kid from St. Bonaventure could be something special if he goes the grad transfer route

Why transfer from one mid-major to another? The kid's gonna want to step up a level. ;)

A shooting guard. We are heavy in point guards.

That is true. None of these guys can shoot, incoming recruits included.

Also I somehow forgot Jackson in my assessment. He'll be in the mix at the 3/4. But we need more than that.

We need someone who can get to the rim strong and finish. Maybe that will be Larrier. We also need a active big on both sides of the ball. Maybe that's Diarra. Problem is both coming off major injuries. I think Vital will be able to knock some jumpers down next year. He should be pretty confident with all the burn he gets now.

Grad transfer makes a lot of sense. Because there's a lot of 2018 guys I really want us to get and prefer we keep the scholarships open

Anyone know anything about Jay Estime, Lilburn GA, 6'5 shooting guard, now risen to #77 on 247 sports list?

What does this thread say about our desperation?
I'm sure there was a similar thread in 2013 about us bringing in another guard. Ended up getting Kromah who played a critical role in the national championship push.

From Diallo to Olden...

Maybe Shai Alexander reconsiders his commitment to Kentucky?

Watched a highlight video of his last week and I have to say I'm surprised that he's ranked as high as he is. Nothing from that reel suggested he could step into a high-level D1 team... but then again, it's just highlights, so who knows?
