Your post: But how many of those are 22-35 y/o single women ? Are you saying that the CT shoreline is unattractive to 22-35 YO's? IMO the New England coast in the summer is very attractive to that age group. Please explain your reasoning for that comment?

My reasoning is just a guess that a young single professional athlete would rather live in an urban bigger city environment than Eastern CT.... thats all. No dig at eastern connecticut at all. I could be wrong.

As I watch the evening news of the daily happenings and weather reports around our great country, I feel quite content living in the good old "dullsville" of SE Connecticut. Even better, as I make my daily drive to lovely downtown Niantic, I thread my way through the public works of the three year plan to make it even more beautiful. Small wonder Geno bought his summer home here. (on edit) I believe several Sun players used to live in condos within walking distance from my house .... and also from the beach.

See my above post...... no dig at eastern CT....... I personally would rather live in CT than Phoenix, LA, and Tulsa. Then again.... im neither a woman... nor an professional athlete..... and Im older than 35 :(

Wow Ashja must have been brain dead for staying with this team for all those years! Probably should have sought out a Dukie for advice. Why would anyone want to live in close proximity of the most diverse area of the country? She probably suffered a tranquil life in the country side never realizing both Boston and NY are only 90 miles in either direction. That and both casinos who get the same entertainment coming through next door.
One can only hope she can recover her years lost in this Godforsaken location. ;)

So could I but I'm willing to guess that a significant no. of WNBA players would not prefer an urban lifestyle. My totally speculative opinion is that the league orchestrates the distribution of talent. When WNBA salaries represent maybe 10% of a player's income, they have leverage as to where they play. But I also believe that talent is concentrated "for the good of the league".

So...was Asija Jones the last former UCONN player on the Mohegan Sun's roster? Anyone know about Kelly Faris? It really seems like Ann Donovan is biased against UCONN players. Not sure why. Having them on her team would ensure ticket sales. We already know that they have great habits & work ethics. Any speculation as to what her problem might be with our girls?

Have you seen the post by Ianiier? The Sun should not be a place to send Uconn players after their career have ended in Storrs. I have said it on this Board before that the love thing between the Board and Kelly Faris only make sense if you have the Uconn glitter in the eyes. While she was a good team player in college it is becoming clear that there is a problem in translating her skills then to those needed in the professional setting. Getting cut (and/or giving up) by a 4th rate European team cannot be a positive sign. Of course it may be argued that she could use her time better by being in the USA where she can work on her game- all acceptable rationals. Yet, there are still many who have said and are still saying that Kelly's problem is that coaches at the prof. level do not know how to use her, get the best of her talent .... The happy status of this is that we will never be able to finalize it all. Because these same people will utter the same thing tomorrow. As for Renee M, she left Uconn with high expectations (although a volume shooter in my memory) but is nowhere near the level many had hoped. Seattle might be a make or break for her (here she reminds me of Candice Wiggins- both were excellent in college, but have not had solid footing in the Pro. For whatever reasons. And both might be joining third team ). As for AJ, she has been injured and elected to make more money in Europe. Perhaps at this point in her career she is uninterested in new beginnings.
As for coach Donovan, I have never gotten the hatred thing- beyond her trading players who simply had the certainty of purpose to have played for Uconn.
