Probably anything from the Dead. My older sister followed them around from 1990 to 1994 (just before Garcia died, RIP).

I really like Umphreys Mcgee, think they put on a very solid show.

Keller Williams is fun live, but not as much in regards to live albums. You need to see him live.

Cream, Hendrix, someone mentioned Humble Pie which I agree with. Mostly classic rock of the late 60s and early 70s.

The Kinks, The who.

Jazz fusion albums of the late 60s.

Violent Femmes - Viva Wisconsin.

Could probably do a thread on just best Dead live
Probably 5/8/77 or 8/13/75 for me. Listened to the Help-Slip-Frank from the latter just yesterday.

5/8 isn't even the best show from that week. And it's insanely good.

5/5/77 New Haven is equal to 5/8/77

5/9/77 Buffalo is in my opinion the best show of that run.
5/7 is no slouch either

The comes a time from 5/9 is sublime

I have and love all the shows from that week, but the Morning Dew and Saint Stephen from Barton Hall are the best of the best imo. The Morning Dew is incredibly powerful and the Saint Stephen has a groove that is a slow burn for me.

The 5/8 Scarlet/Fire is a favorite of mine and the Dew is phenomenal..

There are a few St. Stephen’s in 77 that I like more.

10-29-77 is my favorite 77 St. Stephen. Try it if you get a chance. The fat man is rockin out..

In case you are not already aware of this, Roku has an audio only channel "Dead Shows" that streams directly from archive.org. It's a ridiculously simple interface that covers 1965-2018. There are multiples if some shows because it also gives the type of recording, such as "Soundboard," "2nd generation TDK-SA cassette," "Nakamichi deck in tapers section."

As someone else noted, live jazz recordings constitute a vast and wonderful universe, as do bootlegs, and even recordings I've made myself, but I'll simply add some
recommended commercially released titles that I like and haven't seen in my quick scan of this thread (sorry in advance for repeats):

The Who Live at Leeds
Rolling Stones - Got Live if You want it
The Band - Rock of Ages
Ry Cooder - Showtime
Graham Parker - Live, Alone in America
The Name of this Band is Talking Heads
John Hiatt Live at Budokan
Dan Hicks & his Hot Licks - Where's the Money
Hot Tuna (1st album acoustic)
Kinks - Everybody's in Show Business

Finally, there's TONS of great Frank Zappa.

No it's not. That would be "without a net"

Live dead is from 69 and is the last word on psychedelia

Both great albums. Very different bands though

No, they released the entire show in a much better mix. It's called "Wake Up to Find Out".

Threads like these are helpful toward connecting us when times are tricky & tensions are high. Some of the choices on this thread appall me, but I simply don't care to make anything of others' musical taste.

That said, I sincerely apologize for questioning the authenticity of your posts.

In the end all want the same thing Hans. Different ways to get there but the same destination none the less.. Just different perspectives.

It is all good. And you have my respect for you comment and my apologies for the name calling.

Yeah but that's not the album he was talking about.
