From the clips I've seen she has decent handles (although she does dribble quite high, which makes sense being 6-4) but a very flat footed jumper that looks more like a set shot than something she can dribble into. She's a tenacious player and I think it's clear she wants to be great so we'll see if she develops into a solid wing, but I think she's best suited as a 4.
Agreed. But she wants to be a stretch 4, and that dribble/release/arc is not what you see from someone like Maddy Westbeld, who's also 6-3 (even though Westbeld didn't have a great year for ND).

You know I posted that just for you ;)

No way in heck that Duke plays again on a Wednesday in the ACC tournament while Coach K(ara) is coaching. Take it to the bank.
What are the consequences if they do play again on a Wed-would a certain die hard fan stop
Posting for a while or would they be willing to wear a certain other color blue? Just asking for a friend…

Yeah, would be nice to stick to the OP, meaning the official announcements when players in the portal announce their new school.
But this is the BY where thread swerving is a common thing.
You tried @BRS24 .

Will be interesting to see if North Dakota State College of Sciences can survive this loss.

She was thought to be a quiet commit to Coach Novak if he had gotten the head coaching job at Mississippi State so I had followed her season. Great shooter. My understanding is that she was not highly recruited out of high school but then went to junior college and has done well. I’m very happy things worked out for her.

Really like it for Texas. I've always really liked her game. I'm not sure if her numbers reflect how good she is. I know they've lost a lot to the portal and draft, but if they can get one more piece, I don't think they'll take a step back
Her numbers rebounding-wise and field goal percentage really impressed me while at Oregon State, especially against the tougher competition:

SOPHOMORE (2021-22):
  • Preseason All-Pac-12 Selection
  • Averaged 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game
  • Shot 64.9 percent from the floor
  • Started all nine games she played in an injury-shortened season
  • Missed the final 21 games of the season due to injury
  • Maui Classic All-Tournament Team
  • Hade 14 points and nine rebounds vs. UNI (12/19)
  • Put up 13 points and seven rebounds at Monmouth (12/10)
  • Scored 15 points on 7-10 shooting vs. Pacific (12/1)
  • Recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks vs. Notre Dame (11/27)
  • Went 4-for-4 with eight points vs. CSU Bakersfield (11/20)
  • Put up 17 points against CBU (11/17)
  • Started the season with 15 points and eight rebounds vs. LMU (11/12).

SOPHOMORE (2020-21):
  • All-Pac-12 honoree
  • Pac-12 Defensive Honorable Mention
  • Averaged 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds
  • Shot 55.6 percent from the floor
  • Led the Pac-12 in rebounding and was second in field goal percentage.
  • Tallied 17 points and 13 rebounds vs. California (3/3)
  • Went 4-for-6 from the floor and score 11 points at Oregon (2/28)
  • Tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds at UCLA (2/21)
  • Notched a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds vs. Stanford (2/13)
  • Scored 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting at Utah (1/31)
  • Tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds against Washington State (1/24)
  • Scored 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting at Arizona (1/17)
  • Put up 13 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks vs. Washington State (12/19)
  • Recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds vs. San Francisco (12/3)
  • Scored 24 points on 10-for-13 shooting in the season-opener vs. Montana Western.

FRESHMAN (2019-20):
  • Pac-12 All-Freshman Team
  • Pac-12 All-Defensive Media Team
  • All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention
  • Set the Oregon State freshman record for blocks
  • Led the Pac-12 in blocked shots

  • Notched her sixth-straight double-digit scoring game vs. Cal, going for 12 points and eight rebounds (1/17)
  • Scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds vs. Arizona
  • Earned her third Pac-12 Player of the Week honor on Jan. 6
  • Scored 15 points in her Pac-12 debut vs. Utah (1/3)

Texas got a great one. I watch PAC12 games on Friday nights during the conference season and Jones is a great one. She is a good rebounder and the one thing I remember about her best is she keeps the ball high on her rebound putbacks. She can be foul prone so that is something to keep an eye on in Texas.

I honestly thought Jones' Fr. season was her best. I wonder if ongoing shoulder problems really hindered her development. Nothing definitive, just a thought I've had.

edit--I was sorry to see her leave OSU, but I hope it works out well for her with Texas.

I'm hearing Kelly Graves is having open tryouts to replace the 9 players that transferred.

TCU have picked up a couple interesting transfers out of the Big 10 in Craven and Taiwo. I didn't watch a lot of TCU last season so I'm not sure how they'll fit their schemes. They were both solid bench players from what I can remember in seeing them play last season. I believe they'll be solid contributors here but it's too soon to tell.

I would have put money on the fact that Stephanie Soares was going to TCU. Being of strong Christian faith, I thought that was the perfect school for her.
