We're really looking at transfers from Maine?
Because the school, not the player, is what matters. Right.
Guess we shouldn't have taken Sean Miller from Cornell (Kenpom 277) this year. Boy he sucked.
Maine has consistently been a disaster of a program for the last 10 years or so. Cornell also has had some bad years, but has finished with respectable ~150 RPIs for an Ivy on multiple occasions. Maine, on the other hand, has finished above RPI 250 twice in the last 10 years, and been 300+ multiple times. Unless this kid is a diamond in the rough who's languishing in their program up there, I'm not exactly encouraged that our transfer targets are coming from Orono. Putting up 16 and 6 in America East for one of the worst programs in the country is nothing to go crazy for.Because the school, not the player, is what matters. Right.

While you're not necessarily in left field on this, how many times have we played some lower tier school and been torched by some talented players, whether or not we rout their team. Also, kids mature at different points. I'm not advocating one way or the other for him, just we salivate for some kids who don't quite perform and miss other kids that maybe should have drawn more attention.Maine has consistently been a disaster of a program for the last 10 years or so. If anything it's more impressive considering he was a freshman who the defense likely would be keying in on, and he was the leading scorer for a team with likely not many other options. He looks like a pretty good athlete with good form on his jumpshot. And if he rides the bench like Cassell, so what? Not every player is gonna get burn. Maybe after a year on the bench, he can develop into a real contributor.Maine has consistently been a disaster of a program for the last 10 years or so. You have to make allowances considering he was coaching Arizona at the same time.

A local swingman who, as a first option, shot 41% from 3 makes you skeptical? Yeesh.Yeah I'm a little skeptical. Of course I defer to KO, but on the surface this seems rather head scratching.
