Congrats to the UCONN girls.

Not surprised by some of those. There are a few of those that they didn't make it that are a tad overrated.

This is the first indication on how good Dangerfield can be. I am so glad she chose UCONN. This will lessen the blow of losing Mo Jefferson.

Durr made the team without playing one second this weekend.

Is it the name or the player that gets picked for the team? Is there a harder worker than Gabby? Look what she did for the Huskies: a guard playing with her back to the basket as a post. This after two injuries and not a lot of playing time her last two years of high school. Her instincts for the ball, whether it was a rebound or a steal were uncanny. Like they say, you can't measure heart. Gabby will be incredible this year. Now she has more time to work on her game. We're looking forward to watching you skyrocket this year, Gabby.

How does Durr make a team without even playing during tryouts? She is one of the best players, but if you're not able to tryout, you shouldn't be on the team.

USAB loses a little credibility with that selection.

That's a legitimate question. I wonder who would have been on the team if Durr didn't make it ?

This team seems to be a bit light on the pure guards......just Ortiz, Dangerfield, and Durr .... and a few swingmen

Durr was at the trials but didn't participate because of a strained groin. It's not like USABB doesn't know her game; she recently earned a spot on the 3x3 team.

Three Huskies, two Cardinals, and one Game Cockk to play with Lauren Cox for a month. Let the recruitment begin.

Plus the head coach... who happens to be a Gamecock. ;)

OAN: I was glad to hear about Dawn spending a lot of time with Slocum, although she didn't make the team... hopefully that quality time with Dawn convinces her to look down south (preferably past Tennessee) a little..

When you consider that the number # 2 player and other top 10 players in the class of 2016 also didn't make the team , Gabby and DeJanae have plenty of high ranking company.

chrissaran - I agree with your sentiments about Gabby. IMHO Gabby will be "Stokes Like" in that she will come off the bench first and be a tornado of production. Rebound like Stokes, but she will score instead of block shots. Best 6th man in the country. A very, very valuable piece of the pie. She could play this role for her entire career. Winning formula - - somebody has to come off the bench and make a difference. Why not Gabby?

Holly Warlick said she thought Tea Cooper was the best guard there.

Must've been a conspiracy to keep the best guard off the team then.

She is her future college coach, right? Of course she would say that. However, Warlick or Walz, etc. have no influence over the selection of the team members. The committee does that; it's a good system.
