The coaches on that list that should be on our radar would be Archie Miller from Dayton, Larranaga from Miami(this is a longshot) and Greg Marshall from Wichita St, and add in a Kevin Willard maybe from the Hall. Let's hope that we turn the season around and more of this chatter wont be necessary because we don't need another athletic disaster on our hands. We already have the Diacalypse to worry about.

P.S. Steve Pikiell has Rutgers off to a 6-0 start. Best start for them in 40 years although the schedule has been kind to Pikiell.

You and a few others should be on the MODS radar. Opinion is good, stupidity is not so good!

I give some are just ridiculous. No doubt he deserves some ridicule but in this fashion and as Mr French said to this extent? Bunch of idiots to think we would have been better with anyone else. Yeah here's an idea, let's take this away from the family because there are so many NC winners proven out there.

Whacked

Since I didn't mention you, it is telling that you chose to self-identify.

No shot upstater, leave it be this has gone too far and feeding this frenzy is getting ugly.

I believe TOS did an article around +/- with the different lineups. If I remember correctly vital and vance had some of the best +/- numbers

Not knocking you, but +/- numbers, leaving aside their (questionable) viability on their own, are effectively useless this early in the season, given sample size.

We most certainly can do better than Ollie. We did it before when we hired that Calhoun guy...before he was the man.

lol. Where's the next Hall of Famer at?

KO needs to recruit us an effective big man for next year, that is still on the to do list. Maybe that fruit is ripening on our current roster, thought and hoped it would be Enoch. Don't think we need anything all world, just a big body with coordination, good hands and a nose for the ball. Easier said than done, I know.

KO is the 10th highest paid Mens NCAA basketball coach with bonus incentive (no worries he isn't seeing that). Not bad for a guy who cant figure out how to start a game.

I don't know who the next guy would be but I do know there is a bunch of better coaches on this list looking for a raise.

Yeah, you are right, there are no more hall of famers out there nor will there ever be another one so we should just settle.....
Even you can't possibly believe this.

Hurley is somebody who gains a lot of traction in these discussions for somebody who has never really done anything.

agreed, but for the first time in my lifetime UConn is clearly not the best team in NE. He's got URI is ranked in the top 25, I mean seriously... URI. He's a name to keep an eye on wherever ends up

just want to be clear, I am absolutely NOT calling for Ollie's job in the slightest. I actually think there is huge potential on this team all things considered. I was originally responding to another poster who asked where's the next HOFer.

How old are you?

Last year, PC was ranked higher (granted, UConn was the better team at the end of the year).

If you watched in the 1990s, there were obviously years when BC was better. Maybe URI too when Lamar Odom was there (if it coincided with a down UConn year). UMass with Camby way way way back.

URI just lost to Valpo, so they're likely on the way out of the top 25. But no doubt, he has done an extraordinary job recruiting at that school. What he can do beyond that remains to be seen, but when you can recruit you always have a chance and I do think in the next year or two he'll be moving on to a bigger job (I wonder if he might replace Mullins at St. Johns if he can't get things off the ground).

We should still be able to easily win the AAC if we get our together, even without the injuries. Home game throughout the tourney.....it isn't that difficult of a task.

This is dependent on if this team can gel from now on and learn strengths and weaknesses of each and continue to improve into January.

We have so much talent, and its looked so bad this year and even last year, none of us have hope they will develop, or take over games, or whatever.

But everyone's forgetting that it is possible for a team to suddenly click, or click as the season rolls...and this team, despite what we've seen, has TONS of talent.

I haven't given up on this season yet, honestly. We have enough talent and depth to have a successful year.

Very true. My money is on Vital to hit a 60 foot heave to get us to the next round of the AAC tournament. That, in itself lies the problem. UConn, to remain relevant, has to click right out of the box in November. Playing in the AAC, clicking as the "season rolls" may already be to late. Relying on March magic while going 21-15 in conference the last two years is not a recipe for success.

OK, so who are they?
A. That question is above my pay grade and B. I haven't started looking yet because they haven't asked me to yet.

Let me ask you this, did you know Calhoun was a future Hall of Famer when UConn hired him? Of course not. No one did. But he was out there, wasn't he. In every generation, there are at least a few coaches that eventually stand out. To think there are none out there, right now, that have yet to distinguish themselves is just foolish.

I hope you are right! Right now, it doesn't look good. It looked great after the championship but the trajectory since then has not been good. Hopefully he can get back on track.
