Haiku is a Japanese-style poem of exceeding simplicity. It is composed of 3 lines with 5 syllables in lines 1 and 3, and 7 syllables in line 2. Rhyme is not required. Usually it limits itself to a single idea. There are few hard and fast rules for haiku, but to be true haiku it's best to try for the 5/7/5 arrangement. Anyone can do it:
