Can you imagine what it is like to walk into Werth and see all of that and think, "Man, it's up to me now."

You take this job because you WANT it to be up to me

I was thinking both these things, and getting butterflies thinking about it.

Not only for how excited Hurley seems, but for how excited I am to see what he can do.

And honestly, I was thinking how friggin’ amazing it would be to be where he is, genuinely what that would feel like.

Thinking on it, pretty sure it’s impossible to even imagine how that would feel. Or sitting in Calhoun’s office talking about continuing what he built. Unreal.

Awesome pics capturing the moments too.

I also like how he shaat on the entire league in the process of praising UConn's brand.

This is the right tack:
- not pollyanna-ish about the quality of the conference, which isn't great
- affirming UConn's status independence of that of the conference

I like it. I don't mean any disrespect towards Kevin Ollie, but I watched that day as well and I thought his presser was full of cliches and hokey nonsense. Now, I didn't think he was being insincere, but Dan Hurley is as genuine as it gets. Ollie's stuff seemed rehearsed.

Granted, none of that really matters when it comes to coaching basketball, but I get a better feeling form Hurley than I did from Ollie.

The Ollie-isms were painful at the beginning, chalked them up to an inexperienced coach feeling like he has to project a certain image, and cliches are a replacement for confidence in being genuine.

They became cute when we were winning, then embarrassing when we were losing.

Meant to note that there was mention of Hurley's two sons, but no daughter. Guess that Reddit post about the dude whose girlfriend needed to cover a shift for his daughter this morning was bs after all.

Shocker, I know.

There's going to be a lot of "Ollie would never . . ." about stuff Ollie pretty clearly did but hopefully that fades once we're into summer.

It'll pick back up once the season starts and they see how the team responds to different coaching. I mean, it is what it is. It's why they hired the new guy in the first place. haha

I just hope it doesn't get to bashing KO or more personal life things cause that stuff should all be put to bed at this point.

Funny, I still picture Hurley looking like this, then I see how he looks today and forget how many years have gone by since. Man, I feel old. lol

Very impressed with his intro presser today. Let's hope he gets things turned around quick.

Again, good to see that the UConn brand is still a huge selling point.

They were painful in retrospect, Tenny. In real time they were energizing.

But now...ten toes in = ten toes up and tagged.

I'm not a big slogan or sayings guy so it is refreshing to hear Hurley talk - hard work, do it my way and we'll win.

What I like about Hurley is that he immediately drinks the Kool-Aid. Talking over and over about the UCONN brand, and what that means to walk into a gym with that polo on that says UConn. He talks about the legacy and how UConn has been percieved and what it means to high school kids and even coaches when someone from the school comes to visit.

Hurley is buying in to what UConn is all about, because he knows it's whats best and that to be a great coach and build/maintain a strong program you must have an identity. Jim Calhoun built the foundation here for what is means to be from UConn or go to UConn. KO wanted to remake that brand and break down and build up the brand of a program who quite frankly didnt need rebranding. I'm happy that Hurley is here, not because he is going to be Jim Calhoun, and coach and teach like Calhoun does. But because he respects what UConn was before his time, and will look to build off that rather than break it down and create something new.

My FAVORITE part of that introduction, and there were a lot of highlights, was not having smoke blown up my ass about the greatness of the AAC.

He chose UConn in spite of the AAC, with eyes open, and he had the balls to say it.

He said shoot well
CV came in with a reputation as a shooter.

Look at Shabazz's first two years shooting from 3...

That took a few minutes to click but I think I catch your drift.

Didn't think Bazz shot so poorly his freshman year, I knew his soph year was a slog. He hit quite a few clutch 3s playing off Kemba.
