Look, this O-Line is atrocious and we all know it and they all know it. So what worked for us last season when we had to overcome that? Short, slant plays that got the ball out quickly and utilized our underrated and talented WR.
So my question is this: Was Casey the only QB on the roster capable of throwing this or what? Boyle didn't throw many and neither did Whitmer during their time as starting QB last season. It wasn't until CC came in that our passing game opened up. There has got to be a reason that they are not calling this play more often.
Diaco said he wanted to adjust the offense to fit what the O-Line was actually capable of. Clearly they aren't capable of much now so why not tell Cummings, we need more slants in our offense. We have a stud receiver in Davis, let's see what he can do if we put the ball in his hands.
I'm not even asking for screens, which can be a little challenging for linemen to block properly. I just want a freaking slant. Let our WR's show what they can do. Find a QB who can do this. You can't tell me CC threw these out of audibles he called himself.....
