Wisconsin and MTSU are no longer options for 2025.

Northwestern would be an interesting opponent
Northwestern is perfect in my book. Let’s get that H and H!

It wouldn’t take much to add a little juice to the next 5 or 6 years ahead. Really just two or three more P5 H & H matches and the schedule is in good shape. Seems CRA and the possibility of narrowing OOC games has slowed the discussions.

I would love to get Notre Dame on the 2024 schedule. Even if it's just a one off at their stadium. They have an opening for their senior day game in November. It would be a nice payday as well.

Absolutely an enticing H&A opportunity from UConn's perspective, and maybe Northwestern for their many northeast alumni in years they aren't scheduled to play in Joisey or State College.

While NU's building its new downsized 35K stadium (post-'23 season-'25), UConn can host a '24 or '25 game and return the favor to open the new Ryan Field in '26. Evanston, nice 'burb, and great opportunity for anyone who has never visited Chicago.

The Mistake at the Landing Field is DEAD. No school, unless absolutely HURTING for a game would play in that disaster.
Build the On Campus Stadium YESTERDAY, because the state is not investing "Not One Dime" in that Disaster at the Landing Strip !!!!!

Would Penn State come here?
Penn State isn’t going to the Meadowlands to play UConn. They might to play Alabama or Texas or somebody. If they play us now it will be a one off.

I wasn't saying it would happen - just that I'd be happy with it. Like I've said before, we should play anyone anywhere - until we rebuild our place in the overall pecking order.

ND's 2024 schedule has 11 games scheduled with Miami listed as a TBA.

In November, they have a bye (Nov 2) before the FSU game on Nov. 9 and a bye (Nov. 23) before the 11/30 USC game.

They have a two week bye between Miami of Ohio on 9/21 and Stanford on 10/12....open are 9/28 and 10/5

They have a TBA against Miami of Florida that must be fitted in on one of the bye weeks.

Thank you for your interest in UConn football.

Reasonable people can argue about whether UConn should play at the Rent or on campus, and reasonable people argue that here all the time. Having said that, the thought that what is keeping schools like Penn State from giving us a home game is that we're in East Hartford, easily accessible to their fans, and not Storrs, has to be the most stupid argument ever put forth for moving to Storrs.

Why more distant fans will visit an OOC opponent's stadium. Much like a minor bowl game.

1...Icons...had to visit Notre Dame, LSU and Ohio State...folks will visit a check off list type venue/team that is on the schedule.

2...Location...a pretty location in fall that offers vacation opportunities...foliage, sight seeing, entertainment

3...Family in the area...

I have never heard fans making a choice not to attend based on their perception of stadium facilities...transportaion does make a difference.

More will attend drivable games, If you have to fly and then rent a car and drive 100 miles, that deters some...like UConn fans would when visiting Auburn.

Right. In fact visiting teams like Rentschler precisely because it is 20 minutes to the airport. And for visiting fans it is the same thing. Of course there are fewer direct flights than say Boston or New York, but the airport is easy to get to, no traffic issues most of the time. If you want to fly to Boston or NY it is a doable trip too

no offense but this is a really stupid post. I think it cost 60 million to build a 2,500 seat Hockey Arena. What would it cost to build a new 45 thousand seat football stadium on campus? 200 Million 300 million? for 6 games?

Stupid...REALLY? It's a facility that is past it's useful life, requires $63 Million in upgrades which we KNOW will wind up being $163 Million, all to bandage up a bald tire that was built in the wrong location to begin with.

LOL. You said we needed to do it to get opponents like PSU. So you've abandoned that argument, and think no one will notice?

We should schedule football and basketball (both men's and women's) - getting some home, away, and neutral sites across a well rounded scheduling agreement. Why not get the money and exposure and competition? Notre Dame provided some of our best athletic victories in the past 20 years. Let's get more.
Absolutely think that Benedict should leverage the popularity of our men’s women’s basketball program to get football dates.

LOL, which programs do you actually think decide their away schedules by whether something is “20 minutes closer to the airport“.
