Not knocking the size thing on OL whatsoever, it's just that it is not commonplace (anymore) to see a 6'1 and under OL at the FBS level... If we're recruiting to play on OL there's gotta be something special about him... In Edsall I trust... He's gotten us quite a few gems over his 1st go round...

first things first, I could not care less what a players NFLs prospects are. we dont recruit kids to play in the nfl, we recruit them to win here, if the make it to the league great but that metric is rubbish.

next lets address the "common place" comment you made, there are almost 200 OL that play fbs football (I know because instead of just saying stuff that I hadn't researched I went and actually looked) that are 6'1 or smaller. In case you were curious and wanted to say that they all must play in the small conferences they actually don't, there are 19 OL 6'1 and under that play in C-USA and in the mighty mighty SEC there are 16. again they are not as uncommon as you or anyone else may seem to think. also if you count the players that are listed at 6'2 that number triples and anyone that follows the players closely they know that those numbers are never accurate and usually inflated. finally if you include defensive lineman THAT number doubles to somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200 players. so again I have no problem with us recruiting an OL that size.

this kid is lightning quick but he may be just too small.... that speed though.....

im not so sure about him, looking at his highlight tape it looks like all those throws he is putting everything he has into em and they still dont seem to have any zip on em, he stares down his receivers and doesnt seem to be terribly accurate. I hate being negative but just being honest. MARVIN WASHINGTON in comparison is night and day different. hopefully we can nab him.

Maybe this has already been reported here, but Ryan Glover - a three star QB that had an offer from Minnesota has opted for Penn. We were sniffing at this kid last week, looks like another good one. Congrats for Penn.

Yeah, he strikes me as someone that would need a very specific system to be successful because I don't think going downfield will really be possible at the next level. It seems like a real struggle to even get those 15-20 yard throws out.

Tronti looks alot like Bryant Sherriffs. Medium+ build with good mobility with a medium arm. He's been a winning HS QB for I think three years now. It would be good to have him as we need as many QBs in house as possible. My guess is that he's going head to Indiana however.

Hopefully we end up with Pindell who would be our leading candidate to take over for 2017 as a JUCO, Washington and McAfee or Tronti. We need to bring in three; one JUCO and two frosh.

I agree with your assessment on Tronti in terms of arm strength... but the kid shows a little moxy in the pocket... He seems to be heady back there... and with the system that Lashlee runs, spreading the field, while opening a bunch of running lanes to move the chains, it opens up the over the top stuff, which I think Tronti has the ability to do (film showed that).

Bottom line though, IMO, BOTH are the type that we need here. One thing that seems to stand out to me is level of overall competition...

Can't be mad at this kid.. He clearly gets it... Congrats to him and best wishes in the Ivy League (bigger than a "potential" future career in football)

Pindell looks really good too though.. He can ball out here... I wouldn't be mad...

Let's see there's Pindell, Tronti, and Washington as QB prospects we're looking at.. Any of the 3 and McAfee bringing to camp this Fall I'm all in for...

for me a very interesting thing to watch is whether we get a JUCO. I believe we have shied away from this group as a general rule due to academic concerns. Enrolling them MAY signal a loosening of the belts that would certainly enlarge the recruiting pool going forward

I am hoping Lashlee's star power to an athletic QB is just too strong to resist. Pindell + Lashlee should be a great pair. I also think the same for Washington, Tronti and McAfee, but given they are a couple years younger I view them as the kids for 2019 and 2020 while Pindell has the mantle for 2017 and 2018.
