Bottom 6th, after giving up 2 walks sandwiched around a strikeout for the first out of the inning, M. Quigley comes out of the game. Fogell takes the mound for UConn.
Fogell strikeouts the next 2 batters to get out of the inning. 3-0 St. John's.

Fogell has been a very nice add.
Top 7th, leadoff hitter Morton reaches base on a throwing error on a strikeout, and Tammaro follows with a walk. Daniels pinch hits for Hyde, comes up with a no out rbi single, 2 runners in scoring position due to the throw with no out. 3-1 the score. Garbowski pinch hits for Padilla, and gets an rbi single, 3-2 the score with no out.
Top 7th, Smith with a no out rbi single to tie the game at 3, UConn with 2 runners on base. Huber with a 1 out sac fly after a sac bunt, 4-3 UConn. A wild pitch brings in another run to make it 5-3 UConn. All this off of the St. John's chief closer.

Top 8th, with 1 out, Tammaro is hit by a pitch, and has to come out of the game, Drew Kron pinch runs for him. Pitching change, Chris Jones guessing that Smith will move back to 2B, Daniels move to SS, and Kron will play the outfield. 5-3 UConn going to the bottom of the inning.

I saw Drew Kron play quite a bit for Norwich in summer ball last year. He impressed me with his defense.

Kid’s (Ballestero) gonna be a pest all series… good ball player.
Another solid road win for UConn. Big East baseball has something of a split personality this season, with 4 good teams, and 4 teams around 200 or above in the RPI. The funny thing is that UConn has 3 road conference series, and they are all against the better teams in the conference as ranked by RPI. We'll see how all that plays out.

WTH loss followed by a WTH win. They showed some serious onions today and it wasn’t just the studs who came through. Daniels, Garbo, Paulie Goldilocks…a Penders special.
