@HuskyAlum012 posted this tweet in the Houston thread. Anyone know what’s up?

Definitely sounds Covid-related if you read the comment about Xavier and Butler games being affected.

Another season already being hit by injuries and now might be completely derailed by covid. This is the worst.

Sadly bound to happen given what Omicron is. Hopefully this is the one stoppage and we get over it soon…hope those affected bounce back in no time!
Hopefully it will be relatively mild and not strung out with successive cases.

1. Hope all those who are positive recover fully
2. Hopefully they had minimal contact spreading outside the team
3. Better to get this over with now while there is time to reschedule and get players healthy for March.
4. I expect this to happen to many if not most teams at some point this season.

I believe BE now saying can re-schedule postponed games now and not forfeit. So if we have to re-schedule some games no big deal as far as that goes, everyone in the same boat....just have to deal with it. Health of players first priority.

Heard last night NBA considering a week "pause"...could be false, haven't heard anything new this am. But obviously the realty for all sports next couple of months at least, especially indoor sports.

Tough news, and probably a reality check of where things are right now with Covid. Hurley just said a few days back how the entire team and staff is vaccinated with some of them having the boosters. If more than 1 or 2 guys have tested positive for Covid, that is not a good sign.

I thought they were all vaccinated?
Omicron gets around vaccines, also depends which vaccine. If had vaccine & booster shot most breakthrough cases are mild / non-symptomatic. It's everywhere right now, if you're indoors without a mask with lots of people there is good chance you'll test positive regardless of vaccine status. The vaccine hopefully helps prevent you from getting really sick.

You can still be vaccinated and test positive. I have two shots and a booster and had covid this summer and still plan on getting it. Plus they could have picked it up at their last game. Who knows where they got it since this strain is like a locomotive. Bummer since this is my sons first UConn game and we were so happy to heading down there on Tuesday.

And unfortunately for Hurley and co. being “fully vaccinated” (without a booster) means pretty much nothing in terms of possibility to test positive and become ill. Not having everyone boosted puts them at high risk to have a pause. So this felt inevitable unfortunately.
