Weekly Recruiting Update, 9/23
Class of 2014:
Terry Larrier (SF): He committed to VCU this past week. Per Adam Finkelstein.
Ray Kasongo (PF): He received an offer from UConn early in the week. Per himself. Then shortly after he decided he would take an official visit to UConn. He officially visited UConn this past weekend. Per Corey Evans. All reports were that the visit went very well.
Jeff Newberry (PG): He cut his list down to UConn, OK State, and Texas Tech. Per Adam Zagoria. He then visited OK State this past week and said that he may visit UConn in October but nothing is set. Per himself. He then committed to OK State a couple days after his visit there. Per Adam Zagoria.
JaQuan Lyle (PG): He said he set official visits to UConn, Arizona, Memphis, and Kansas. Per Rivals. However, he hasn’t taken his SAT yet so he can’t take official visits yet. It also came out that Arizona wasn’t recruiting him so he won’t be visiting their. However, he did visit UConn unofficially this past weekend. Per Rivals. All reports have stated that the visit went great.
Kahari Beaufort (PG): He unofficially visited UMASS on Tuesday. Per Pat Lawless.
Keandre Dew (SF): He was offered by UConn this past week. Per Alex Kline.
Sam Cassell Jr. (PG): He also officially visited this past weekend. Per Eric Bossi.
Rakim Lubin (PF): UConn offered him last week. Per Shun Williams.
Bonzie Colson (PF): He is currently deciding if UConn, Temple, or Minnesota will be his last visit. Per Amelia Rayno.
Jabari Craig (PF): He has reportedly cut UConn. Per UConnBall.
Cliff Alexander (PF): He said UConn and Oregon had been in contact and that he was interested in both schools. Per Scott Phillips. However, today he tweeted out a list of his top six schools and UConn wasn’t on his list. Per himself.
Class of 2015:
Noah Dickerson (PF): Someone from the staff was down to see him workout. Per Shun Williams.
Dikembe Dixon (SF): He was watched by one of the coaches this past week. Per Adam Zagoria.
Prince Ali (SG): Ali is still very high on UConn. This is due to coach Ollie personally recruiting him and UConn being close to NYC. Per his dad.
Will Jackson (SG): He will be unofficially visiting for Midnight Madness. Per Dan McDonald. He joins Devin Robinson and Jessie Govan as known visitors for Midnight Madness.
Marcus Sheffield (SF): UConn was in to watch him last week. Per Shun Williams.
Class of 2017:
Jermaine Samuels: He unofficially visited UConn on Saturday. Per Adam Finkelstein.
Azar Swain: He also unofficially visited on Saturday. Per Adam Finkelstein.
