Weekly Recruiting Update, 8/19
|Class of 2014:
Kelly Oubre (SF): He said that UConn may be receiving an official visit from him. Per Adam Zagoria.
Jordan McLaughlin (PG): He will be visiting Kansas for their Late Night at the Phog, their midnight madness. Per 247Sports.
Goodluck Okonoboh (C): He will be cutting down his list sometime soon and it may be to five schools. He also said that he wants to visit five schools officially but could commit on one of his visits. Per Rivals.
Quentin Snider (PG): He will be officially visiting UConn September 20th-22nd. Also, he will be officially visiting UCLA the weekend of August 31st. He is also planning on visiting a few more schools unofficially. Per Scout. Quentin’s dad said this about UConn: “Quentin has always liked UConn. He was a big Kemba Walker fan when he was there. It’s just another one where he just hit it off on the phone with coach (Kevin) Ollie. He said he wanted to go visit. Quentin has talked to them mostly (about the Huskies’ point-guard needs). I know they run a lot of three-guard offenses.” Per Steve Jones.
Josh Perkins (PG): He decided that he will not be visiting UConn before he commits. He also moved his commitment date to August 24th. Per Adam Zagoria.
Abdul Malik-Abu (PF): He was supposed to visit UConn unofficially this past Wednesday but he rescheduled it and visited Florida instead. He is now going to be visiting UConn on August 24th. Per his AAU coach.
Devin Watson (PG): He recently officially visited Oregon State and is planning on visiting UConn sometime soon. Per Scout. He then listed UConn, Oregon State, San Diego, and UTEP as the main schools in his recruitment. Per Coast2CoastHoop. His final two schools will most likely be UConn and Oregon State. Terry Larrier (SF): He will be officially visiting UConn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and VCU. Per Adam Zagoria. Larrier is also hoping to commit by the end of September. Per Brian Flinn.
James Blackmon Jr. (SG): He is listing offers from UConn, Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, UCLA, UNC, Kansas, MSU, and Baylor among others.
Class of 2015:
Malachi Richardson (SG): He cut his list down to 12 schools this past week. The 12 are UConn, Florida, Indiana, Georgetown, Miami, Kansas, Arizona, Ohio St., Villanova, Rutgers, Syracuse, and UNC. I then talked to him after he cut his list and he said that he would only consider two schools that were not on his current list, Duke and Kentucky. Per himself.
P.J. Dozier (SG): He said that he added offers from UConn, Indiana, Ohio State, Cincinnati and North Carolina throughout the summer. Per Rivals.
Tookie Brown (PG): He now has interest from UConn, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Butler, Miss, Tennessee, and Clemson. Per Brendan Quinn.
Carlton Bragg (PF): He is now reviewing interest from UConn. Per Michael Graves.
Josh Sharma (C): He said that he now has offers from UConn, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Providence, Boston College, Maryland, and Davidson. He is also receiving interest from Georgia Tech and Creighton. Per Corey Evans.
Tyler Dorsey (PG): He now has UConn, Duke, Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, USC, California, Stanford, Arizona State, Syracuse, Iowa, Texas, UNLV, and St. John’s recruiting him. Per Dinos Trigonis.
Prince Ali (SG): He has accumulated offers from UConn, Washington, Illinois, Miami (FL), LSU, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Rhode Island. In addition to that Florida, USC, UCLA, and VCU are showing interest in him. Per NY2LASports
Class of 2016:
Derryck Thornton (PG): He said he had offers from UConn, Arizona, Florida State, New Mexico, UTEP, USC and others. Per Rivals.
Devonte Green (PG): He has offers from Florida and Cincinnati with interest from UConn, UNC, Georgetown, and St. John’s. Per Andrew Slater.
