UConn lacrosse improved to 6-0 on the season with a 19-8 victory over Binghamton (0-5) on Saturday afternoon at the George J. Sherman Complex. This marks the Huskies best start to the season in program history.

The No. 20 Huskies were led by Carly Palmucci who registered six points on four goals and two assists, while Kacey Pippitt also scored four times and added an assist to total five points. It was another balanced performance for UConn who saw eight Huskies score on the afternoon as the team outshot the Bearcats 28-26.

Also seeing time playing keeper was Brittney Testa who recorded five saves in her 20 minutes of action. Erin McNulty (0-5) was handed the loss after allowing 10 goals and stopping five shots.

The Huskies opened the contest with a 4-0 run but the Bearcats threatened to even the score at six with nine minutes remaining in the opening period when Nee made an excellent save leading to a clear which gave Pippitt the opportunity to push the UConn lead to 7-5. This would begin 5-0 run to allow the Huskies to head into halftime with a 10-5 advantage.

Despite several shot attempts, the Bearcats were unable to come back from such a large deficit and the Huskies walked away with a 19-8.

Connecticut grabbed 18 ground balls in comparison to Binghamton’s 12, while the two squads were close to even in draw controls as the Huskies won 15-14. Nee led the team with four ground balls and Mackenzie Rainone picked up three, while Pippitt had a team-high eight draw controls.
