#HuskyUp with the CollegeColors App
|I was scrolling through my twitter feed and I came across a tweet promoting College Colors Day on August 29th. It struck my interest, so I figured I’d find out what it’s all about. Using facebook or twitter, fans are being asked to show their school pride by posting pictures representing their favorite schools along with a corresponding hashtag. The more pics posted with the hashtag, the more points awarded to your school. The winning school wins $10,000. I dug a little deeper to see where UConn was in this competition, and we are currently 5th in the AAC with a measely 215 points. South Carolina is leading the nation with 15,802! We’re WAYYYY behind. East Carolina leads the AAC with 5,502 points. Again, we’re way behind. UCF, Cincinnati, & USF are all ahead of us, but well within striking distance. I figured this is one small way as fans we can #HuskyUp and do our part. We all have pics of our tailgates, wearing the gear, the school, etc. Why not post them and get recognized as the good fanbase that we know we are. #HuskyUp and show your school pride!
Here’s what you need to do:
1.) Go to collegecolorsday.com and follow the step by step directions provided. Or, you can download the College Colors App for iphones & androids and go from there.
2.) You have to have a facebook or twitter account for your posts to count toward the overall point total. I believe you can post photos daily through the app & that will give UConn an additional 50 points a day.
3.) Upload and share photos on the app AND facebook or twitter using the hashtag #BleedBlue AND #CollegeColors
Again, it’s a small way to show your UConn pride. More importantly, it’s a way to #HuskyUp before the season starts.
