Watch Brimah at the end of the Kentucky game. He is hilarious. He drops down and puts his shirt over his head after he freaks out gesturing to the fans. I have to wonder about this kid.

I swear the best team we played the entire tournament was St. Josephs....they were a damn good team.

I remember thinking the same thing at halftime when we were down only 5. We had been down 10. It was almost the worst case scenario for the half for us, St. Joes shot almost 60% and it felt like we were down by way more than 5.

On possessions where UConn played crappy defense, St. Joes hit their shots. On possessions when UConn played good defense, they were hitting some really contested shots.
There was no way they could keep shooting at the insane rate they had been. I think that game really helped hone our defense for the rest of the tournament.

Just re-watched the St. Joes game ending. How AWESOME was that play that KO drew up with 2.6 left!? Got Napier a wide-open runner that would have won it.

Just a tremendous play drawn up by KO and executed nearly perfectly, it just didn't go in.

Funny you mention that play. I remember sitting in my living room at the time thinking they should just inbound the ball and get to overtime. Too many bad things can happen there when you throw it down court - it could be intercepted, it could be a bad pass out of bounds giving St. Joe's the ball back under their own basket, there could be a foul, etc.

Goes to show what I know. They couldn't possibly have gotten a better look given the circumstance.

tcf, I just finished rewatching all the games. Thanks again. You are to be forever praised for posting them on Youtube for all of us diehard UConn fans who can't get enough of the team's amazing championship run.
 
First of all, THANKS to TCF. Long story short, I had a family obligation and never saw the Florida game - until last night. What a great game. Boat's pass to DD was one of the best ever. And Bazz's full court to Giffey near the end was a thing of beauty. And our defense was great. So thanks again to TCF

Probably my fav.

The number overall 1 team, on a 30 game win streak. Big early deficit. We were getting our butts kicked, and then returned the favor, handing them their worst loss of the season. Outstanding performance on both ends of the floor.
 
Can you guys believe that after the st joes game we never even played a close game!? No buzzer beaters, no huge 2nd half come backs, no games that ended with a one possession differential.... we didnt have to sweat any of these games.. that is unbelievable. Even the great college teams over the past 15-20 years who won titles had to play at least 2-3 super close games. We had 1 and it was our opener. One of the best runs in recent memory.
 
Is 2014 uconn the best free throw shooting tournament team of all time?
