Actually it was the turnover down 9 all the momentum. Gets a pass down low would have had a layup instead fumbles it out bounds
I feel like that was a killer because they scored 2 quick baskets off that in a row.

When he committed to UConn

And when he said he's coming back this year

Love you Alex, I believe, we're in this together
Coming back apparently because it was a better deal than a low-end international program.

“I’ve always been hard on myself, but more so now as the leader of the team and someone the team relies on a lot,” Karaban said. “I put that burden on myself. I need to play better, and it’s just who I am as a person. I mean, I made a lot of mistakes. As a junior and a player with this much experience I made so many mistakes today. It cost us the game.”

Six turnovers for Alex. That is way too many for a secondary ball handler. Take out those and we had the same number of TOs as St John - 11.

Pre concussion he played 4 terrible cupcake teams, a good Memphis team, a horrible Colorado team, and a weak Dayton team. His 10 games post concussion AK was 57-125 for 46% field goals and 23-62 37% three pointers for 16 points per game.

What was with all the fumbles today? He must have done it 10 times. In the first half he fumbled the ball almost every time he touched it. I wonder if there is something physically wrong with him. What was the tape on his shoulder for? Is there an injury there we don't know about?

SJU forces you to play at a pace faster than you are accustomed to playing. Either you adapt or you play hurried and rushed- bobble passes, fumble, miss rebounds, etc.

Agreed. I wonder though how much shooting is just shooting no matter who the opponent is.

Said differently, a wide open 3 is a wide open 3.

Go look at his numbers last year and who he stacked all his big games against in the BE.

He’s a set and shoot guy, needs time to uncork his shot.

His numbers swing steeply from bad teams to good.

I'm just posting this because I don't think this question has been asked -
But does anyone think there's a chance that AK has hurt his draft stock so much throughout this season that he comes back next year?
I don't mean to rip on the kid because he was a big contributor the last two years and has done enough to go down as a legend no matter what happens, but I just think he's not the player anyone thought he was.

I've seen almost every mock draft still having him as a 2nd round pick somewhere - a few even in the first (which would be insane) - so I'm expecting him to leave but I just don't see what an NBA team would be impressed with enough to the point that he'd get picked. I can't imagine he'd ever crack an NBA lineup; even a spot in the rotation seems so

When we have Diarra, Solo, Liam, Reed & him on the court - he's honestly probably the 5th option to score. So how does that translate to potential pro status?
He can't cover anyone quicker than him (which would be everyone in the pros) and is too small to be any sort of stretch 4 [and that's aside from him not really knowing how to shoot any more].

From an NBA scout perspective I really don't think I would see a difference between him and Stewie. AK has a better IQ, a better passer, and can be a better shooter at times - but Stewie easily has a higher upside. And i only say that because in no world should Stewie be a draft pick... which makes me wonder if/why AK would be one.
You joined in October 2023, and waited until this "Your favorite AK moment" thread to make your first post. It reeks of bad energy.

Yes, others with much more experience in this forum than you have strayed from the topic, but none so thoroughly.

Your post is a valuable reminder that this is the part of the season is when not everybody who posts here has the team's or players' best interests at heart.

Hurley must have read this thread. Watch his reaction in his Georgetown pregame media availability to Karaban getting criticized by fans.
We do appear to have a number of posters playing defense against the intention of this thread. How is that a good thing?
