I think it is something of a miracle and certainly a testament to Geno's unparalleled coaching skill that the Huskies have gotten this far this year. This miracle run might end this weekend. If it does you may find solace in remembering that the program is still the best in the modern era. The video below will help you with that. The narrator can't get Geno's name right, but the footage and the story are pretty spot on in taking us down memory lane.

Geno is amazing. Where are the people that were calling for him to retire?

Thanks for your post! The optimist in me is offering a simple change to a sentence you used. I would replace “This miracle run might end this weekend” with ”This weekend might end with a miracle run”. Go Huskies!

If you draw a line on a map that begins up in the Boston area, circles south to include Foxboro, continues south going east of Storrs (and east enough to include the casinos), keeps heading south and now a bit west to be sure to include New Haven and Hamden, and then loops back north and gradually link back to where you began north of Boston... you have the the "New England Triangle" of sports accomplishment! (Did I miss anything? What would you name it?)

I don't see this as a miracle season. UConn has the better players and if they match up well they are going to win. If they play their best game tonight and Iowa plays theirs too UConn would win by 25. They don't have a deep team but for Geno that doesn't matter since he doesn't play reserves anyway.

Geno is a great coach who recruits the best players and does it year in year out. No one should be surprised that they are in the Final Four this year or any other. If you look at history the one thing UConn has done better than any program is they beat the teams they should beat and that will continue tonight.
