OK. John..............We'll give her the requested 3-4 weeks you asked for. But don't expect us to wait much longer after that. We have a very good and delicious cake baking for 2012 , and she could be some nice icing.

I thought we were baking an Apple Pi.

Rich Elliott blogs that according to her high school coach, Xylina has canceled her scheduled visit to Providence next weekend and eliminated Providence from consideration. She'll choose from UConn, South Carolina and North Carolina. There is no indication when she'll make her decision but presumably it will be in time for the early signing period which begins Nov 9.

It does sound that way -- “She indicated to her high school coach that she is ready for the recruiting process to end,’’ Wiley said.

Some of us were wondering about Providence being in the mix.

Jim Fuller's blog provides an update: http://elmcitytoeaglevillenhr.blogspot.com/

Xylina's coach says she and her mother will visit North Carolina on Sunday night and a decision should follow shortly after that. This is from Fuller's blog, including what Xylina's coach had to say about the visit to UConn:

"She is going back to North Carolina on Sunday night so her mother can get a chance to go on a visit so she is going to go back up on Sunday night and come back on Monday," said Long, the head coach at Spring Valley High in Columbia, S.C.

"She will probably know something soon after that visit," Long said, indicating that a college decision could be coming shortly.

McDaniel, who is considering North Carolina and South Carolina as well as UConn, took an official visit to Connecticut over the weekend. Along with UConn commit Morgan Tuck and Class of 2013 recruiting target Taya Reimer, McDaniel took in UConn's First Night festivities as well as the first official practice the following morning.

"She had a great time," Long said. "I talked to her, she enjoyed the festivities, the basketball (event) and she had a great time. She got some 1-on-1 time with Coach (Geno) Auriemma. They got a lot of time (together)."

No prediction here, but my guess is UNC or SC!! Just a hunch...

Either way I wish Xylina and her family success. She obviously is a great young lady.

GO UCONN!

Geno is a great closer. I like UConn's chances.

Why would anyone at this particular point in history choose either NC or SC over UCONN. Must have to do with being close to home, right? No contest, for someone who wants to be as best as she can be...and the UCONN family, nothing like it!

Geography may win out but she sure would look good in a UConn uniform.
