Received an email from UConn saying they removed 826 seats from the lower level at XL due to renovations. The net result is that many will be moved from 100 to 200 level.

So despite all the self promotion about the renovation the net impact is nearly a thousand people got worse seats. Due to building design there is a huge difference between 100 and 200 levels. Why not build the fan bar in the 200 level and keep the better seats in the 100 level? Not very thoughtfully done in my opinion.

I am pretty sure the vast majority of the seats came out of the student section.

I'm sure it's not my section because they never throw t shirts to it

So those 200 people will be 15 feet higher. I can't imagine anything I care less about than that.

I take it you don't invest in season tickets? The difference between the top of 100's and several rows up in 200's isn't insignificant.

Can anyone confirm the student section wasn't moved to the opposite baseline?

It's likely people behind the hoop and in the corner moving to the bottom middle of the 200's, which is, in my opinion, a better seat in any event . . .

I cannot wait to see how you blame this on Susan Herbst. Cannot. Wait.

I can because my season tickets are still in section 111

Did you get your season tickets in the mail already?

No. I go to a lot of games, and have football season tickets.

No but if you go to your ticket account then go to transfer tickets. You can see where your seats are

Just checked ours and we went from mid-111 last season to front of 214 this year despite doubling our annual donation. Let me know if anyone with lower-levels wants to trade for these 'better seats' in the front of the 200s

Every bowl seat is not automatically better than the upper level. Unless the metal railings are in your direct line of site, then you got an upgrade, IMO.

I did the same. Doubled my donation but lucky I still have my tickets in 111. But they did move me back a row which is no big deal.

I'd think twice about trading those. I think you'll be closer to the court and have a better view in the lower 214. Those are nice seats (I'm in 240:eek:).

They took down those 100 level seats at the very back. The ones that were built on the inner walkway in 102. 105, 114 and 117. They were replaced by seats that remind me of the monster seats at Fenway, seats at a little bench and high-tops behind them.
