Well, guess what? Even with a full house it was never a "goddam disaster." I never heard one person at any game grouse about the concourse, only here. And from people that don't go to games, no less. Anyway, I just saw the finished product at the hockey game. The concourse is now wider and the rebar has been replaced by 30 beer taps. A hand stamp allows you to go from the game to the Sportsbook and back. My hockey fan but not gambler buddy thought it looked cool. I can't wait to hear why it sucks.
if you never heard anyone grousing about that concourse you were deliberately not listening. I go to 40 events there a year. Everyone was worried about it at the games against Nova and Marquette. It was extremely unsettling.
But now that they finished the new sportsbook, its nice. I went there on an NFL Sunday when the Wolf Pack where holding practice.
They were charging arena prices for food and beer in the sportsbook. On a random NFL Sunday. When I asked, they said it was because their system doesn't allow them to charge more traditional prices for beer when there isn't an event.
So on every NFL Sunday, head on over and pay $8 a Coors Light, $12 and up for good stuff. OR...go to any bar and pay much less and just gamble on your phone.
Its dumb. Its a dumb idea that already isn't working (look at the very low handle they're reporting themselves to HBJ).
