Verrrry strange timing.
Xavier had 4 kids signed for next year, including #110 Marquia Turner. This must throw their lives up in the air.

I feel bad for the kids affected.

I don't feel sorry for the players at all except for the poor timing by Waugh. She managed to take a very successful program and turn it into a loser. Hopefully her replacement will get the team back on track. The team was 214-73 under McGuff. Her 2 year coaching record was 21-36. This with a team that had been to the NCAA tournament in each of the 9 years prior to her taking over as head coach.

McGuff's final year was a senior-laden team with those 2 big forwards (Phillips and ?), and a few others. Dont think he left much behind.

Amber Harris, but also April Phillips (now coaching at New Haven) and Special Jennings.

That said it was a dumb decision not to put Neighbors in there as soon as McGuff left.

The combo of Ta'Shia Phillips and Amber Harris was deadly. Add in Special Jennings and Katie Routan that was a pretty good team. Two coaching changes in a matter of a few years can not be pleasant for the players.

That was my take after reading Waugh's statement.

Really?
I thought she said she had thought about resigning all summer. It made it sound very voluntary to me.

Though I suppose she could've done something inappropriate/illegal, gotten terminated, and just used that as her cover story.

My better half visited the Xavier message board. They don't know anything, but apparently have visions of anything from a sex offense, through players not liking her through NCAA violations. What all agree is that it isn't a good thing.
